As a dragon player I can confirm that Ulti 1st FuFu are *clean.* Also great to see Edison get the feature on here as someone who played during this format. It was fun back then and now that I'm no longer a poor newbie it's even more fun. Oddly enough I think Jump REDMDs are at the same price now as they were back then :P EDIT: The goal of that dragon deck (Dragon Turbo/SoL Hopeless Dragon/Deep Draw Dragons) is to burn through your deck with Trade-In, CoC and Magical Stone excavation in order to get a giant Super Rejuv off that'll let you draw into your defensive cards (Gorz/Trag) so you can kill the opponent on the following turn by summoning multiple REDMDs and shitting out big dragons. There's a second top tier Dragon deck in the format that plays very differently with a focus on defensive spells and traps that aims to control the opponent through Koa'ki Meiru Drago's floodgate effect before eventually going for the kill with REDMD + Dragons (Disaster Dragon/Trap Dragons). Basically Dragons are good in this format and FuFu is bonkers in them. 17:05 - Yeah BRD was at 1 because it was a (for its time) easily made board wipe that you could access with Debris Dragon. Also a thing that people need to remember about this format is that the TCG used the same banlist as the OCG which meant that anything that got hit in Japan because of a problem deck there that we didn't have yet would apply to us. BRD at 1 is a direct result of that because Japan had a deck called Debris-Hime that spammed the hell out of the Debris Dragon + Dandylion interaction to constantly BRD your opponent while having tokens as follow up. North America couldn't really do this at the time because Dandylion was a Jump Subscription Promo alongside REDMD so the number of them available were limited (and you were straight fucked in EU) until the Absolute Powerforce Special Edition reprinted them. It was after that dropped that Dandylion started becoming a problem down the road.

The deep draw dragon deck or Dragon turbo is basically just trying to draw into this exact combo: Backrow sweeper (trunade/heavy) + REDMD + REDMD + Debris. You summon debris which lets you summon both REDMDs. Then summon Blue Eyes and Drago which makes for 9500 dmg and the opponent isn’t able to stop it with gorz, fader, or Trag. Even crow doesn’t work very well since REDMD doesn’t target and you can just summon a different dragon with REDMD eff. It can be really hard to stop. Also there are often lethal lines using synchro monsters like Brionac, Tempest Magician, or Trident Dragion. It’s a pretty difficult deck to play because you need to have a firm understanding of what cards you are likely to draw at any given moment.

@3:41 book on Flamvell guard was better because REDMD can priority summon out another body. @4:15 if they got dandy back it would’ve clogged the board, in case they needed to summon Sorc to clean up a potential Gorz/Trag

I got tired of current format and the time it takes to be play competively to the level i want to so I got super into edison that i can pick up and go from now. The old high rarity cards are super nostalgic too which has been fun. I have even got older friends playing again that havent touched cards in 5+ years. Its been a ride.

Edison format was gooodd omg remember used to play fairy chaos with Hyperion herald and breaker chaos sorc bls. Was a great period for Yugioh, was not like set 1 monster 1 backrow passfor many turns, but was not like 20 minute turn 7 disrupts 5 cards in hand, was the exact balance that made the format one of the best of all time in my opinion. 😊

I wish people at locals played edison I played before the format had a name, a relinquished water hero kitchen sink type deck. Depending on the hand you could end on with stardust, absolute zero, and a relinquish with a djinn lock.
