My brother and I loved watching Jerry Lewis movies when we were growing up. Thank you Jerry for our special memories of joy and laughter you gave to us. On another note, I as a five year old remember Garry Lewis and The Playboys performing "This Diamond Ring" on the Ed Sullivan Show. It's another special memory I shared with my older sister. Thanks for the love. 💯% ❤️

8:08 I didn't realize the problems with Joseph went back as far as '93.

It started in '89 with the National Enquirer article that Joseph was paid $25,000 for his story. He used it on drugs and disappeared. He hid from his mom for awhile as well. Jerry tried to make contact with him, according to newspapers, and Jerry said that he wanted to know why Joseph said these things, and he wished that he would let Patti know know if he was ok or not. Not sure when Joseph reappeared, but he came to Jerry's live shows threatening him. He brought a gun to threaten his dad at one of them, and that was it. Joseph also stole a number of items from Patti and Jerry's collection of jewelry, memorabilia, etc, and sold them later. Jerry refused to speak about him, and pretended he didn't exist. I think it hurt him too much, and it was better for him to cope. He had already watched Gary destroy his life with drugs for years. Joseph tried to contact Jerry later on, but Jerry refused to acknowledge. Jerry never stopped thinking about Joseph, and there was an article in 2014, where Jerry finally talked about Joseph again and how much guilt he felt and sadness over him.

how he doesn't mention Joseph at all. He stopped with Anthony. You can see the pain on his face.

Yes for sure. It had been during this period that Joseph had threatened Jerry's life and disappeared. Jerry and Patti were both upset, and just wanted him to get better and return to their lives. Jerry told the press that he couldn't understand what made his son go to the National Enquirer. He had received $25,000, and he probably used it for drugs, that he was addicted to. He also stole jewelry from his mom. I think he eventually made contact again with Patti, but he was coming to Jerry's shows with a gun reportedly and making threats, and Jerry had to cut him out of his life.

Stella Stevens and Connie Stevens gave him GREAT compliments. Instead of a “thank u Stella and Connie i love u too”, he says “she always had wonderful taste” or nothing at all.🙄🙄

He's a comedian, and Jerry Lewis and I expect him to make a silly remark like that. That's why we love him. He's right, she did have good taste. Most likely he felt awkward about the videos, and went for the joke. That's what people with anxiety or you know comedians, do....

Gary then proceeds to talk shit about his dad yrs later in regard to the situation with Joseph, when he didn't do a damn thing to help him out of his drug situation either. SMH He hadn't seen his brother in 10 yrs before he died.

@@givethechanceakid yes, and also: didn't Jerry think Gary had war PTSD and that explained his drug habit? Except Gary wasn't in combat and later admitted that he had begun drug use on the road as a musician not due to soldiering, yet he allowed Jerry to rail on about the Vietnam war.

@@CrystalClearNews I don't quite believe Gary there. It's possible he started using it as a musician, but you can tell there is a negative change to Gary on the Jerry Lewis Show episode where Gary returned from service. Clearly something suddenly impacted him enough to hide away from his family which included his wife and children. It made Jerry speak out against the Vietnam War and threaten to move his entire family to Europe before they took another one of his sons. I don't think he would have been that dramatic in speaking out against Vietnam, which could have hurt his career if there was nothing that had impacted Gary's mental health there. Gary lost control, and it broke up his marriage, and he was accused of several crimes, which Jerry spent around $500,000 for throughout the years to bail him out. Frank Sinatra also got involved with his friends to make at least one of the situations go away according to Patti in her book. Though her account of what happened doesn't make sense. There are newspaper articles that say the situations were more serious. One time he was accused of holding up a gas station, then another time implicated with friends in the assault of a woman. Another one was where police found drugs in his car.
