For future for anyone interested: Just mix half of the kit into another container and leave the two unmixed bottles for the next application. I do this all the time. As long as they are kept separate, they an be mixed again another time.

I liked your before color better, Cheri. But it's not super drastic and i don't think it looks bad. Your idea to correct it might work, but the chemistry of hair color is tricky, so if you know someone in the industry who could advise you it would be a good idea to ask. ❤

I was so stoked about your original plan! I thought it would be fun to see a bit of pink peeking out from under your blonde. Such a bummer it didn’t take. Perhaps a more bold pink would grab? I think you should try it again. Don’t give up!

I’ve had the same thought. Maybe a fuchsia would look like light pink on my darker blonde. I’m a bit gun shy now so I’ll have to think about it.

Personally, I think it's really cute! However, as you can see from my profile picture, I do my full head (long hair) in BRIGHT colors soooo.....lol. I think it turned out nicely. But it's totally a personal preference thing because it's on your head and you are the one that needs to be happy with what you see looking back at you on the mirror. xoxo

I actually would have loved to have tried a full head of pretty pink hair. My job prevents me from doing that. Yours looks good from what I can see on your profile pic. Maybe some day.... ☺️

@@CheriJ11 I've been doing full head bright colors for years. I started having my friend do it for me but since the pandemic, I have embraced the bleaching and dyeing myself.

This may be a stupid question... but... did you mix the developer and color together and then apply, or did you ( as it appeared to me while watching ) simply stroke to saturate the hair with the developer and then slide some color over that? If so, perhaps that made a difference as to why it did not properly take?

I know it was hard to see what I was doing, but I did mix the developer and color together. It was not as thick as I expected it to be, though.

I think unless you're getting help from a friend it's pretty much impossible to pull off any highlights... Do you watch Brad Mondo? He basically says the science behind colours & how they interact with your hair colour is pretty complicated... It looks to me like you've got more of an orange tone than pink, maybe due to it not being processed for long enough.... So I'd not risk any DIY highlights again as you maybe end up with a green hue! Go to the hairdressers & get it done professionally.. I always think these kind of videos are really entertaining to watch but the viewer doesn't have to live with the results! 😊

That’s so true that the viewers don’t live with the results! Lol. This colour didn’t involve using any bleach so I don’t think it’s a case of it not processing long enough. I think the colour is more a result of what colour it went on top of. I’m holding off on the highlights coz you’re right about the mixing of colours and processes being a tricky business. I don’t want to make things worse!!!
