Just a quick note since it was brought up to me. I have no issues with Pat. The opening segment was just a joke. If you're a fellow Gizmondo fan, you likely get the reaction as no one seems to know this system exists except us.

Poor old Rick Dickinson never had any luck with handheld consoles, he went on to design the ZX Spectrum Vega Plus, an even bigger dumpster fire!!! (I mean, it's the only console I've ever heard of that you can brick from just having the volume too high on it!!! :D) But,The funniest thing about the "with ads" Gizmondo was they never found anyone who wanted to advertise on it, so it was exactly the same as the "no ads" model in the end :D

@@Jenovi They aren't too expensive. Sometimes you can get deals. I got mine for $200 and came with a case, Doom II CIB, and the ever-important AC adapter. But I had to do a lot of work on it, such as scrapping off the rubber shoulder buttons and surrounding edge --soft touch rubber like Gizmondo tends to get sticky and gross decades later--(there are 3D printed replacement pieces for the edges, thankfully), and replace one of the dome switches on the action buttons (wouldn't click anymore, so the responsiveness wasn't good), but since I replaced it, it works as well as it could. Definitely a neat device that you should showcase! My favorite games are probably Duke Nukem Mobile, Terminator 3 (unreleased/leaked prototype), and AniDudes.

What I really hate about mainstream media outlets / personalities, they always overexaggerate or lie the reasons behind a console or a game failing, but by only looking at their bad points, AVGN is also responsible for this type of garbage too, a fair amount of gaming content has been ruined and misjudged by media outlets and bogus expectations, I think great examples include consoles such as the Atari Jaguar and 3DO, or games like Cybermorph or Web Of Fire, honestly its very undeserving considering that most people review games by modern merits rather than what they stood for their time and finally, their circumstances behind why they really failed
