After winning 20 blitz games, in which I won ten games in a row, one of my opponent said: "No complaint. I won't play with you again. Either you cheat or you are rated 2200 plus". Believe it or not, I won them all because of your videos. Thank you so much, dear G J .

Thanks for showing this GJ. As a French player I was totally unaware of this kind of trap. I've also been thinking of having e4 back in my repertoire and this video has been an inspiration to try 1.e4 again.

Nice. I used to play this line. I remember one tricky line with a queen trap that happens if black plays 1.e4 e6 2.Nf3 d5 3.Nc3 Nf6. I hope you cover that in the next video. I remember winning some games with this opening.

as Black my favorite is French defence but since one could not always be Black ,I also love how White cripple this defence! ..and it is here, ,from the master presenter with his exclamatory Bam? and Boom! coupled with his sarcastic chuckle that I learned how to destroy the defence that I loved most!

perfect me if I'm wrong but it seems that the b4 pawn that was threatening the queen black could take with the knight and end up with a pawn after the white knight jumps the knight the queen takes the knight as well

2:39 what if Qxe2+ Queen trade? You are +1 pawn but cant castle anymore, is that worth it?
@groussac
@groussac 7 жыл бұрын
Probably. Play might proceed 1. Nxd5 Qxe2+ 2. Kxe2 0-0-0 3. Ne3 Be7 4. d3 Bf6 5. Re1 Ne7 6. Nc4 Nd5 7. Kf1 N7b6. Artificial castle. Black isn't developed enough to take advantage of White's King in the middle of the board. Similar to Berlin Defense.

Why at 3:51 we dont take the Rook instead of the Bishop?
@nofilter3810
@nofilter3810 5 жыл бұрын
It would be net gain regardless but the bishop should be better move in theory. W knight takes rook for +5, B queen takes back for +3, white comes out w/ +2 Whereas when W knight takes bishop, he walks away w +3 since B can’t recap

On Lichess you can play casual unrated games for training. First--just learn the opening moves and play and lose a bunch of unrated games against the computer with it. You can program the position you want the computer to play. If you can get a friend to play a certain move order, that's good too. Try this. Try that. Play a lot though. Only that one opening. Get it into your memory. Make up your own theory. Second: now go and learn the actual theory. You will now have a foundation of experience and pain for book knowledge to "stick" on, and memory will come a lot easier. Here I like to use Lichess 'study' feature to create my own opening files. A lot of work, but your rating will go up and up!

you can try to promote it into a queen in the middlegame/ endgame.
@winston9920
@winston9920 8 жыл бұрын
That is so helpful..... If you are up in pieces, try to trade all pieces so you have an extra piece for the endgame. If you are up in pawns, try to trade all the pawns, so you have 1 extra then trade all the pieces. :-)

And if you are a pawn down, try to exchange into a Rook endgame, they are often drawn even when you are a pawn down.
