Glad it was helpful, enjoy the ride! Note that the Glacier Express does not operate from mid October to mid December: www.myswissalps.com/activity/glacier-express/#dates. The regular trains operate year round though.

I found this video interesting, even though I have absolutely no intention of travelling on the trains which I often call the 'Gletscher Bummelzug'. I have travelled on the ROUTE of the Glacier Express on many occasions. But it has always been on the HOURLY 'regional' trains. The great advantage of doing that is that the passenger can break their journey into much smaller sections, and indeed at any place they like. Eg Visp, Fiesch, Realp, Oberalp Pass, Ilanz, Reichenau-Tamins, Thusis. (I have deliberately picked places at which the Glacier Express does not stop.)

Glad you liked it! Yes, it's a Bummelzug for sure. They all are on that route :-) I agree that the regional trains are great as well. The Glacier Express is great in a different way: a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many, a comfortable, luxurious direct train with commentary, food and helpful staff. Thanks for watching.
