how is rap music perfect for a period film? surely rap music cant be perfect for every genre.. that just doesnt make sense. its only perfect for those who enjoy rap music..

@AB-sr9mc by this logic every film genre should only have music from that time period depicted. Can you imagine only Roman music for Gladiator - no classical music would be included because that came much later. The song was chosen for the trailer because it thematically matches (the song asks questions about power, God's, Kings etc). Music should and always will be something that creates connections and confounds stereotypes and frameworks. If they chose a country song that worked we would praise it. If they chose Bach or Tchaikovsky song that worked we would have loved that too. We don't need music to solely be of the time or era depicted to appreciate it. Also this is a different arrangement of the song that has clearly been mixed with chanting/singing. Also spoken word (a form of early rap) existed for millennia. We do understand your point but we don't agree on this occasion. Thanks for watching and sharing your perspective. Have a beautiful day.
