I love the xtreme gel. Works well with a moisturizing gel underneath. I use either kinky curly curling custard or uncle funky’s gel and top them off with xtreme wet line gel. Keeps my hair moisturized, shiny, and defined.

I can't remember whether you are an air-dryer for your hair, but I think you'll get your best curls if you either sit under a hooded dryer or you fully dry with a diffuser. My hair always looks best when I fully diffuse my hair. That also might be a reason why the doux's Bee Girl flaked so much. Looking forward to more curly girl videos

I am so happy that you are full time curly. 🎉 it’s so funny how products work well for one person and not for someone else, as you mentioned with the doux bee girl gel. I found that the Shea moisture flax seed gel didn’t work for me. I got it after you mentioned it in another video. It’s like I wanna like it cuz it smells so good but it just wasn’t enough hold for me and was a bit too sticky. I may try it with another leave in to test it again. Great video. Cant wait to see more of your full time curly journey ❤

I’m in LOVE with the Curlsmith Hydro Crème Soothing Mask!!! The first time I tried it I was blown away with how soft, silky, hydrated and moisturized my hair was. I went out and immediately bought backups! At the time I was struggling with rough, dry hair and that mask got my hair all the way right. After using it I got one of the best, juiciest looking wash n go’s ever! Editing my comment to gush about that Briogeo kiwi mask 😌. I enjoyed that one as well. It pleasantly surprised me because for whatever reason I didn’t expect it to be as moisturizing as it was. When I was trying to recover my hair from protein overload, a mask like the Briogeo without any protein is perfect! You didn’t have the Honey Hydrate as an empty, but since you mentioned it I had to come back and edit (yet again 😂) to say how that leave in is the TRUTH! Love that one and it’s a staple for me. Unfortunately they did change the formula though. I plan on trying the new formula when I run out of my current stash. Hopefully it’s still bomb. In case anyone is wondering the old formula has honey as the first ingredient. The new formula has propanediol. Last, I just ordered some Curl Origin products. So far I’m loving their Agave & Apricot Curl Serum 😍. It’s sooo good. Defines the curls and very moisturizing. I’ve heard great things about their overnight mask which I’ll be testing out next wash day.

I don’t see a lot of people talk about Eden bodyworks jojoba monoi strengthening deep conditioner.. fyi there’s no protein or biotin so I don’t know why they added that to the label.. this is my go to for moisture.. use a heat cap.. and don’t be alarmed by the texture.. it’s somewhere between a cream and paste.. a little goes a long way 🤗

I used to use creams a lot, which (you see) weigh the tiny bit of wave that I do have down. I have re-discovered (not since the 80s girlfriend LOL) *mousse* of all things! The standard aerosol cans but for "curls". Yeah they have yet to cater to "waves" (cause who wants those LOL) Anyway, I am enjoying doing my hair. And this is from someone who straightened and crimped her hair for 30 odd years (I'm 51).
@monica53210 Жыл бұрын
You gotta try the Gabrielle union curl cream. It’s the best cream I’ve ever used. I’ve been natural since 2006. Similar texture to yours but way less density and length. It is a one and done for me. I don’t wear my hair down only in puffs when it’s curly. It gives good definition for 3 days and you can reapply on dry hair with no issues after that. It’s a keeper!

This was very helpful and informative. I'm a gel girl and i live in a year round hot climate so the information regarding the stylers is great cause finding products that work well is a struggle. Stores here don't allow you to open to do the mix test to see if the products work well . So videos with leave ins and stylers/gels that work well together (last more than a day or 2 and doesn't flake) are greatly appreciated...❤❤❤❤❤

Hi Kendra. I would say for me the double deep curl quencher from curlsmith is the product that really changed my hair🥰my wash and gos come out so much better when I use this deep conditioner first. Favorite gel right now is the mielle custard. I use it by itself to style my hair. I have a similar texture to yours and Kelsey’s hair but I have low porosity.

Great video! Loved all the product recs! Adding a few of these to my list! For majority of this year, my hair has been recovering from some intense heat damage, so I'm taking a major break from heat as well. Definitely ready to see how great my hair is 100% natural and I can't wait to see how long it gets!🙌 For me some of my top faves have been the Melanin Haircare Multi-use leave-in, the Innersense I Create Hold Gel, and the Adwoa Beauty Baomint deep conditioner. Those have been consistent gamechangers for me! Please try these if you can!

I have a protein treatment recommendation, try the aphogee curlific texture treatment, is a mask doesn't have that bad smell and works pretty fast. I been wanting to try the curlsmith one, even saw it a tjmax for 12.99 but I couldn't cheat on mine, is still less expensive and works beautifully.

Never understood why straighting curly hair in the first place. Personally straight hair to me has always been boring/lame as hell looken like flat paper. But also there's like wigs out there. And blow outs, flexi rods, CurlFormers look waaayyy better. It's great that you're embracing your curls heat damage is such a sad sight to see on curly hair best luck regardless of what you decide ✨👍🏿👍🏿👏🏾
@leahh2654 Жыл бұрын
Bw with healthy natural hair never have "boring" looking straight hair. On top of it being a bit easier to manage ,it gives a versatile look and shows our true length . Wigs are hideous and so obvious. Hopefully one day they won't be so popular for our women because wearing and growing out our natural hair is the real tea. The fake hair is lame and us long naturals get tired of being stereotyped that our hair isn't real, when that should be the standard for us
@seethergenpan8651 Жыл бұрын
@@leahh2654 sorry I don’t understand the first sentence that you wrote lol it sounds grammatically confusing. Discussing natural hair with someone who has been a natural for 17+ years, creates their own hair products, and is a natural hairstylist, I personally and will always stand by Straight hair is boring to me. It looks like flat paper. Also there are amazing wigs out there if you want versatility. i’m sorry that you have come across hideous wigs maybe upgrade your style or talk to other people . when blowouts are also a great way to “manage” curly hair but honestly if you’re done here as long as myself, I don’t have any issue with it it was my opinion, so what’s your point? 😂🤣 also, the standard should not be disregarding wigs or people that have conditions alopecia and want versatility and do not want to disturb the beautiful natural curl patterns of their hair. The standard should be that we should all just wear our hair naturally. that’s what the standard should be. because naturals believe straightening their hair is the top beauty standard. that’s why there’s so many naturals that suffer heat damage and then they have regrow out their hair and it looks like a mess. I said what I said I stand by what I standby so good day to you and blessings. lol
