It seems that the only new animated show that people bothered to wait until release to criticize was Disenchantment (aside from the few people pointing out that Elfo looked like Bart), and as a result, the videos that I've seen reviewing the show were a lot more balanced and prioritized the storytelling and writing in their criticism. The differences between these reviews and some the people freaking out over the shows highlighted in this video are like night and day.

So let me get this straight: OG Thundercats was extremely silly and probably reflected most cartoons of that era - people loved it; 2011 Thundercats tried to tell a more serious story and the creators had a lot of passion and drive to make a good story - OG fans hated it; Thundercats Roar seems to want to return to form (the silliness), but more reflecting on the kind of silly shows we have now - OG fans already hate it. How? Why? Like, there's not enough info rn, but hating a show that tries to follow the tone of the original? Were you even a fan of it? Or is it that you can't admit your tastes have changed? Or maybe you just can't admit that once upon a time you loved silly shows with little to no plot.

So was I the only person who saw that episode of the OG Thundercats where Mumm-Ra cross-dressed as a nymph to get Tygra stoned so he could steal the sword that gets bigger when you grab it wand wave it around while yelling? Or the one where Snarf turned into the Hulk? Or the time they get Mexican (MEXICAN!) take-out and end up using the hot sauce to unfreeze someone's throat? Y'know, I'm not sure what show these whining pissants watched, but something tells me I'll be enjoying this new, silly show as much as I enjoyed the old, silly show.

You know what's really pathetic? Digibro once made a video about anime failing financially because it's always the same thing over and over again, he explained that anime shouldn't look at other anime as a source of inspiration. That this creative bankruptcy is the cause of a lot these shows being so niche that only completionists would ever waste money on them. He said that nobody actually had the ambition to tell their own story, or become the next cultural phenomenon. But the second somebody makes a different show and is actively proud of the fact that it isn't part of a lot of modern anime's self destructive habits, he throws a tantrum in his bedroom filled with sexual anime characters. Maybe he actually likes that anime pander to paedophiles, but is too proud to admit that openly?

I actually had no idea Crunchyroll was making a show, even if it's not great I'm going to watch it out of spite, just a bit. The funniest thing with DigiBro recently though is that he made this clickbaity video about a relatively unknown show that's actually *really fucking good* called "Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World)" that's basically this coming-of-age psuedo slice of life show about a group of teenagers with psychic powers navigating their community that, on the surface, is pretty normal, but frighteningly dystopian underneath it all. It's got horror elements, sci-fi elements, absolutely gorgeous animation segments, conically bisexual characters (with on screen kisses! even if they're not endgame), and a genuinely heartbreaking story. It's not for everyone & has its flaws, but it's definitely NOT worse than the fanservicy trash pile that is Sword Art Online mister "DigiBro". Good to know he's part of that whining crowd of man-babies though, probably a good thing I didn't stick around for much of that video then. I hate getting replies from equally whiny man-babies, unless they're the sort to unironically call me a PC Zombie Communist while i continue to string them along jokingly. Cause that's T-shirt worthy.

Great video, and thanks for the heads-up about Digibro. Unsubbed from him. I had no idea he was so disgusting. If you ever find yourself defending people who draw garbage that sexualizes children, you need to reevaluate your life in general. Also as someone who saw all of 2011 Thundercats, as nice as the art style was, that show was full of problems that no one ever talks about because "muh nostalgia." It wasn't just the network screwing the show schedule over that led to issues. The writing ranged from okay to flat-out bad, characters constantly forgot their own powers, the female characters' writing was questionable and the show constantly took a shit on Lion-O because one of the guys in charge of the show had a serious boner for Tygra. I'm glad it was cancelled because the future plans for the show were even worse than what we already got, including ageing up Wilykit to marry Lion-O and turning Pumyra into a bug monster for Tygra to kill, to fuel the unending dick-waving contest between him and Lion-O. It wasn't the worst show but it was hardly the best.
