His character as a whole is actually pretty annoying to me. Too silly, too fake. The 9 year old character is the worst, especially when the screenwriters are dying to make him say "etcetera" every few minutes. In the ending they literally tell us the ladies job is to keep balance so they had to make those 3 guys think they were mentally ill or ordinary people and don’t have any powers they’ve known they had! The woman says at the end that they did indeed have the powers they thought they had her job was to make them think they didn’t and try to break them but that didn’t work so their next solution was killing them and thinking they got off free. Now since I've rewatched Unbreakable again, when Dunn finally accepted his superpowers, he scanned people in subways. He saw some horrible things, most of people had hidden criminal histories. One of it is very disturbing, we saw a child being abused by a mom. Dunn originally want to track this mom but he decided that child abuse is hard to interfere, then he accidentally scanned that janitor with murdering spree which takes more priority straight away. You know man, that kid is called Kevin by his mom. Is it coincidence that Kevin Wendell Crumb is Split's main antagonist? Think again.

It's great that Spencer Treat Clark played Joseph Dunn in Unbreakable (2000) and in Glass (2019). There is an organic feeling to his relationship with his father, David Dunn (Bruce Willis), because he is the same actor in both films. It's rare that studios do this with films 20 years apart, but it adds to the believability of the story.

The second half was ass, just too messy and somewhat unbalanced. Bruce Willis had little to no screentime. this felt more like a Split sequel than a finale. too many pov shots, there were times during the 3rd act where i said, ''this is too goofy now with the whole comic book stuff''. Samuel Jackson didnt do shit till the 3rd act as well which was kinda wack. i know it was a low-bugdet film, but i was really looking forward to another climatic fight scene but in the tower downtown. the ending was just straight up stupid asf, THREE TWISTS MY NIGGA HUH?! @@toosweetbill9685 well, this film is titled Glass. So my take is the actual showdown is not between Overseer vs Beasts, but Elijah vs Ellie (Elijah wants the world to see vs Ellie tries to disparage them). All those comics book stuff was one of Ellie attempts to demean them (amongst other things, like magician tricks etc), but which Elijah take rather gleefully because as you know, he's into that stuff, and he's the one connecting everyone. as for David, he has a vibe like he's dragged into all of this against his will. Prediction: Casey from Split will emerge with mind control/suggestive powers. 1. The broken are the more evolved. She is confirmed as broken, which points to her being a candidate to be more evolved. 2. She somehow had the attention of all the personalities, and could seemingly always get them to cater to her and even admire her. Almost as if the Horde sensed something different about her. Think about it, every personality treated her differently than the other girls, Patricia and Hedwig in particular, and the simple fact the Beast chose not to kill her was an obvious clue that there was something more to her. 3. She told the girl to pee, and the girl did. Now, this sounds like suggestive reasoning, and maybe it is, but is it possible that she implanted that into the girls mind, notice how she grabs her head......which I'll speak further on later. 4. Now this is stretching a bit, but did you notice that when Kevin first gets in the car with the girls, that he seemingly didn't even notice Casey was right there next to him? Almost as if she had somehow concealed his mind from seeing her when she got scared, until her concentration broke when she opened the door and all the sudden he saw her...notice in particular how he looks at her as if he was surprised. The Dennis personality is OCD and extremely detailed in his approach. how did he not notice her right away or make a point to go after her right away being she was the closest? 5. At the end with the cop, the look she gave the cop that signaled the cop to something being wrong. Now...pay special attention to the cops face, it’s not just the cop getting something is wrong. It’s an almost shocked look as if the cop can see what she’s thinking and reacting to it. Now back to the grabbing the girls head part, watch this trailer and see how she once again grabs Kevin by the head and how he reacts, he looks shocked, or stunned even. Which indicates she may be exhibiting her mind control ability. COMMON THEMES BETWEEN UNBREAKABLE AND SPLIT: Glass is weak and genius and malevolent and the opposite to David Dunn’s durability and simple focus, and benevolence. Kevin is split and unable to control even his own mind and primal, while Casey is whole and able to control other minds and nurturing. Also keep in mind, Mr. Glass in fact 'awakened' David Dunn to what he could really do and what he really was, by finding his opposite on the spectrum. The 'broken are the more evolved' line, I believe, is the moment when Casey was also awakened to being more evolved. Regardless of whether she initially realized it or not or even knew what that meant. Continuing the theme of the awakened heroes via the villains.......

This is how the theatre reacted to this movie.... So about the first half of the movie, I could hear people weren't into it. I heard talking. People mostly wondering what's going on. A lot of confusing stuff that didn't make sense. THEN. The last 40 percent of the movie. The "break out" scenes. The audience was dead silent. Glued to it. In awe. Not a peep from anyone. Until the last scene. And when the credits rolled...Nobody got up. It was weird. Usually ppl start leaving when the ending music plays. Or, the first word of the credit appears. But not this film....people wanted more. I've never seen an entire theatre watch the whole credits. We all wanted a bonus scene. Or maybe, it was so good at the end, we were paralyzed. Well done M Night Shamalan! VERY nice comeback :)

I saw the movie today and actually people started leaving from halfway the 2 very long hours movie. That is the wrost movie I saw in 2019. The acting was incredible but the story and the time it takes to make a point is irritating. I couldn't stand the movie and when it finished I felt empty and unsatisfied. Great great actors but big disappointment on the story. Overall: 4/10 3 for Patricia and 1 for acting

I think you're on the right track. She must have identified with one or more of his personalities and is trying to help... but could it be related to her abilities in some way? There were hints that she was not a random victim as a child (though not sure that will play out) but she has some quality we haven't been introduced to yet. Thus the Shamylan twist.

I love this trilogy soooooo much. Thing that blows me away is how film critics can give any of the 3 films a bad review . Unbreakable, was a different idea of the superhero genre and how it could be true and done. Split, was the craziest twist when you heard that music score and then Bruce Willis gave me chills. Glass, a beautiful rollercoaster of a story that maybe it's just a mental health issue, fitting for our time, but then it's a secret group that kills the superheroes to keep the status quo. So amazing.

I came here after Bruce Willis' announcement. I didn't quite remember the extension of his participation in this movie. He wasn't the main character, and his lines were often short, but from the trailer I can now recall that it was more about his presence than the things he said, which were limited. At the time I thought this was by design, but now it becomes obvious this was a way of dealing with his condition. I hope he gets better and can still enjoy a long and fulfilling life.

The only thing I am skeptical about is Willis. Lately he seems like he's bored, or uninterested in his roles, pulling in many bland performances. He just seems so fed up with acting, just seeking paycheck work. I hope he pulls through, and makes this an astonishing acting trio, rather than duo.
@gmanzano89gm6 жыл бұрын
Dormammu Willis loves his work with M Night. So I believe he will bring his A game to this.

There's two things M. Night did, and that was making Willis actually act.

David Dunn is one of Bruce's favorite characters. He's been wanting a sequel for years. If an actor is 100% committed, I'm not worried. He is the perfect guy for David Dunn.

Unbreakable is way too under-rated. But I'm really glad What M Night did to super hero genre way back in 2000. It would have been a blockbuster with critical acclaim had it come in recent times.

Not the original superhero movie. Those have been around long before Unbreakable. Shyamalan's film, however, is the first to add grounded realism to the comic book genre of films. We wouldn't see this until a few years later with Heroes on TV and Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy.
