I purchased the other brand that doesn’t work when I should’ve just held off and waited for more people to test it out, I see something that I think might work from somebody on KZbin. Come to find out it didn’t work after I got the product. Now this company comes out with an actual working product that works almost every single time. I mean this one every time I’m sure there’s gonna be a time it might not work but then all you do is send an email and they send you a new firmware and it will automatically work. It just was so mind blowing This right here when I purchased my first product I can’t wait to get some money up and purchase this thing. Hi Hippie, Im in Canada in Vancouver BC, and I have a 2015 Nissan Leaf. I have the ability to charge at home on a 20A plug, which works fine for me, pulling 16A on my charger. I do have a few Chademo chargers around my area and most do work, as Chevron has rolled out their charging service for a decent cost and supports Chademo and CCS at all stations that have them. Having this adapter would open up my options and Patrick if you see this I would love to know more information on cost and shipping to my area. I may not need it right away, though it would really open up my options if I would ever need to travel farther than my local area. I have been able to get to Chilliwack with one charge stop on the way, and charging while in Chilliwack, for context its a 85 KM drive. I bet I could have gotten to my destination without charging mid way though to have this adapter it would open up my options when on road trips

Something I just learned is that the standard for EV charging across the US will be NACS (Tesla). I'm sure most know about this, but it just become knowledge to me. So, where does that leave us Leaf owners? Standardization should have been dealt with on the onset. After all, when you fill up a gas car you can go to any gas station, and this should be the same situation for EVs . . . ALL charging station. If they don't do something about standardization soon, the EV market might wither away in the future. Tesla does supply A/C destination chargers at hotels, for example. But you will need a J1772 adapter to work on those chargers (level 2). OK for overnight charging. Nothing as yet for use at a Tesla Super Charger (I think). Honestly, I hope this nonsense is sorted out when I'm ready to purchase another EV. I wonder what it would cost to completely change out the charging system on a Leaf to the new NACS standard. That would be great for Leaf owners who want to keep their cars.

@@nomadichippie I'm not sure about the second gen, but when we replaced the OBC on our former 2012 LEAF, we found the cooling lines literally going past the battery to get to the OBC in the back. I wanted to face desk when I saw this. Even worse, there is an EV version of the Nissan Versa out there that does have a liquid cooled battery. Nissan really made a poor decision in skimping on cooling. I wonder if the 2nd gen LEAF also has cooling lines going to the back of the car? I could see this as a "relatively" easy job and tie into the cooling to the sensors for the OBC and running a tapped loop with pump into a cooling plate in the battery pack. This is assuming there isn't a sleeping piece of code in the BCM to wake up make use of.
