Glad to hear some people still understand it's power, maybe we won't have to live in a future where everything is minimalist, mass-produced, colorless and dull after all. Unfortunately, yet again the media hasn’t given the full story. So every few years an aircraft has to go for a major strip down inspection. And yes before anyone jumps on me I agree that the current situation regarding the future of the arts is very serious. If COVID 19 hadn’t happened, would the aircraft repaint even been a story?

Me and the Mrs were watching Ant and Dec's Saturday Takeaway one evening and we decided that we needed to do something a bit more 'cultural' After a bit of searching on the web, we happened upon the National Theatre website. Christopher Marlowe's Edward II. That's us we thought. We got the train from Basildon on a Saturday afternoon (it was a matinee) and there we were, newly arrived as part of the chattering classes among the theatre goers, Shakesperians, students etc. What we didn't know was it was a "modern adaptation" (or didn't bother reading the programme) Well, the play started with Edward IIs coronation and this bloke stood up two rows in front of us and started shouting. We looked at each other "Who's this wanker? Shut up, we're trying to watch a play" The wanker in question was of course Piers Gaveston, the King's lover. And in this version, he (and several others) announced themselves from various places in the actual audience. Well, we felt right idiots. Still, we watched it to the end and enjoyed it. It'll be a long time before we can do this again. F--k off Covid 19.

Bang on! It's refreshing to see a piece on Glastonbury that gives an authentic view of the town. People do come here for reasons other than the festival, which would also appal you. I think your last century retro grandad suit is very brave!

We all remember where we were and the massive disappoint we the day we Googled Jonathan Pie. “Tom Walker? Pie is... a character?” We all wanted Pie to be real. We still do.

Funny enough, a few locals got together and organised ‘the Alternative Glastonbury Festival’ next to the Tor last year, with local artists playing and neighbours arranging refreshments. A good time was had by all 👀

Watched till the end of the vid... Johnson's points about what the Government 'should' be putting money into instead of "Cheep Gimmicks" to tell the rest of the business world that they are STILL "here and available if you want to trade". Who are the ones in charge? What are "Their agendas?" AND... "Avoid it like the plaque" ... what a guy!!❤️😂👍

Give us some politicians with something near that level of passion and insight, sure go over the top and get it wrong sometimes but show me you have ounce of comprehension of what it means to be human and I'll forgive you for being one when you do.

I like to imagine those people that denounce the arts (especially as part of education for children & youth) are the types that failed recorder lessons in school and are still salty about it decades later, because with all the studies out there clearly demonstrating the cognitive and emotional benefits the arts have on people and society at large, the only other conclusion I can draw is that some of our politicians are bloody ignorant. Respect to you Tom for bringing this up! 🙏 Fellow artist here who also misses performing live (and attending cabarets, of course ;)
