As a person with OCD I could feel her struggle. Everytime someone (Will) disrupted her rituals I wanted to scream.

Just so anybody who reads this is aware not all of us who have OCD act like this, we can be very subtle about it and we arent always clean freaks.

Exactly not everyone has the germ or clean type of ocd, it depends on the person and if they have a specific trauma too

More people need to know this, it can be anything - for me it was turning off plugs, telling the truth obsessively, handwashing, drying electrical objects, etc. It can be anything really, as long as your intrusive thoughts convince you that something bad could happen if you don’t do it.

As someone who has OCD, I relate to Emma. I feel her pain and I know what she feels like. OCD is not a joke. It’s scary and depressing and down right stressful.

I used to watch glee a lot, and I've seen emma scenes and I've never thought that I would have OCD a while later. And in 2019/2020 suddenly I developed this disorder and It changed my life in a really bad way. My OCD is not the same as Emma's. I have problems with my thoughts, It's really hard for me to think about every single topic, a lot of things that I think become OCD. I just hope that someday I will be able to help people with the same disorder.

I have had the same problem!! I’m pretty sure I have had it for a while (since being small), but it has gotten really bad. It’s kind of nice seeing someone with a similar background.

I can also relate, I have to be very careful online as my mind can latch onto something small and make it something so much worse. It is a battle but we are all brave for it! Best wishes 😊

I’m so sorry for anybody who actually thought this is what OCD is, just cleaning after cleaning after cleaning maybe in some cases but not all. People with OCD suffer with ego dystonic which means they don’t align with your values. For example you think stuff like “what if I accidentally poison my family” or “what if I take this knife and stab my partner in the back” and sharing stuff like that to people is terrifying because what if they take you seriously? What if they confuse your worse fears with your legitimate values or intentions? OCD is not just depressing in cleaning but mentally it messes people up people spending all day obsessing. so please when you see people yell out they have OCD with out being diagnosed because they can’t stand water on the table tell them to get diagnosed before yelling it out because people with OCD suffer in silence.

Yep! People fail to realize that it is literally in the name: Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. So much of OCD revolves around wanting total control. This manifests differently for every individual. Some people with OCD obsess over cleanliness-to varying extents; others do not.

Yup! And it's possible to have both obsessive thoughts and compulsions or just one of them. I personally had mostly compulsions. The scene were Emma put moisturizer on her hands and rubbed the hands certain times was a happy surprise. I wish there was more representation that didn't revolve aroukd cleanliness.

It's important to talk about OCD because I suffer from it. Let's also point out that it's not only about cleaning objects. You can also have severe thought obsessions + rituals and many other components.

I'll put up with your crazy. Wow..wtf that could have been worded better. I don't have ocd. but I've got adhd, ptsd, anxiety, and depression. To simply call any of those crazy is messed up. People with anything mentally don't choose to have it. But traumatic situations arise and it changes you.
