I actually really like this version. Yes, it’s not done in the classic rocky horror style and takes away a lot of the story line, but it’s undeniable that Amber Riley has an amazing voice, both tone and range wise, and that she was able to show that off with this song. One of the amazing things about this song is that each person who sings it is able to make it their own. So yes, the lyrical and musical changes are unfortunate, but Amber did an amazing job with it, and I love that she emphasized the more jazzy aspects of the song.

Ok, so this is for the ones that don't watch glee. 1) The professor wanted a male to play Frank but none of the male wanted it. Not even Kurt because of a little joke saying "you're gay, you should it". He didn't feel like it. None of the other males wanted it because they were worried that they'll laugh at them. (Because they're 16 and they try so hard to fit in more so they're scared of what they will say to them dressed in drag) *Plus, two of the guys who played Brad and Rocky were too selfconcious(? Of their bodies so much they tried everything to make their bodies look hot (because they were going to get nude in stage). *PLUS if you thought "well, why don't they just use the guy who was a crossdresser. You're talking about Unique, and she/he didn't appear until later on season 4 and 5. *This was in SEASON 2! (I think) *There was the doctor, I dont remember if he wanted to play Frank but he stuck with Eddie. Even if he wanted to play Frank, the teacher wouldn't allowed because he hates him and he's jealous he's dating the woman he likes. (I know, right!?) 2) One boy DID want the part and he got it BUT his parents didn't want him to do the play because they control his child to get straight A's and don't participate in the glee club, and he's scared to disappoint his parents so he quitted. 3) Mercedes (the girl who is singing) was tired that Rachel (the one who plays Janet) gets all the lead roles and solos, and she wanted to participate so bad and she had confidence to play the role so bad. 4) Of course they'll had the lyrics change because DUH! High school production, its on T.V, and copyright. 5) They were going to do the show! But it was too "sexual" for a highscool play. The kids were fine, the teacher and the principal were fine about the play being done EXPECT for Sue Silvester; the gym teacher. *She hates the glee club and the teacher so of course she will try to destroy him. *The kids were upset, even the ones who didn't wanted to do the play because they knew how the others worked on it so Much. And they were gettin courage to play the naked parts as well! 6) They did a bunch of songs because they worked so hard and they played the musical for his teacher. ♥️ 7) Glee is a drama/comedy/musical show . And this was a Halloween special (I think it was) 8) The kids have so much drama in their life, and they're teenagers!!! Of course there'll be some doubt to play those characters in front of the whole school and parents! Doing sexual things and all of that. And most of the classmates HATE the glee club and they bullied some of the kids in there. Even the jocks and cheerleaders. 9) All the kids sing so good but all people that can sing want to do a play, unlike Rachel,Kurt and Mercedes. THIS is suppers to be a show about drama that happens in HIGHSCHOOL. We all have self doubt and problems with bullying, self conscious and even problems by working on a highschool play. Of course there will be drama, ITS A TV SHOW. It's glee, this show has so much drama. They can't do an exact episode of the Rocky Horror Picture Show with these characters! But they can do a parody like victorious did with the breakfast club. Still! If they did the play exacttly the same it wouldn't have Been done because It think tv wouldn't allowed it??? Censorship and shit. Mercedes killed the song, it was all they had. None other wanted to play Frank. It was their last choice. They can't go ask another random character that probably wouldn't matter the next episode or have any propuse just to fulfill something the teacher need (Like Money, that's why they put Sugar in it. She doesn't sing, she's terrible, she has no character but they throw her in it because she can pay all the Glee Club need. . . Because she's rich!) Enjoy the music! It wasn't made a real play!
