Glorious sunset and sunrise. Horseflies draw blood, but in my experience you see them, and they can be quite a painful bite.

Hi Dave…great video and photography….. On the WHW you mentioned, I think the WHW is busted now, it’s like walking down a busy town centre with good views. I’m currently helping my friend doing different sections training for his 5th WHW race and it’s wall to wall. I know you like your solitude + how many videos are out there of the WHW…it’s like all these distance trails they’re so busy and there’s no adventure in them anymore. That’s my take and many will disagree. ATB Dave, love your videos.❤👍👌

Don't understand why people wouldn't watch the Scotland videos, the place is stunning and very well shown by you. Awesome views across the Moor in this one. I spent a fair bit of time in and around Glencoe when I was younger , had a few "adventures" as they say, probably best not dwelt over!

Excellent mate, love Glencoe! I need to do a big catch up on the vids, not been watching anyones vids lately I enjoyed doing the WHW, Not gonna lie I was gutted when I realised every other tom dick and Barry of the KZbin world had all planned to do it as a similar time 😂 but on the actual trail if you get up nice and early and crack on you barely see anyone. Not sure how busy it will be in summer so i’d probs wait until September ( or whenever the midges bugger off 😅 ) 👍🏼 Hope you’re well mate.

Nice one pal 👍. I need to catch up on your vids too. Your channel is doing fantastic and it’s very much deserved for a the work to put into it 👊. We have to get together for a mess about in tents sometime, before to get too famous to be associated with me 😁. Thanks for the thoughts on the WHW. I’m still undecided about it 🤔🤷♂️😵💫. Definitely need to dodge all them bloody KZbinrs. Nowt worse 🤣. ATB

I had exactly the same in the lakes last summer, walking along and felt , what I thought was water running down the back of my legs, and it was blood !! From a couple of places , not sure what the are but quite big black things, looked like horsefly or black fly. Nasty buggers. Although as you say wasn’t sore at all and didn’t become sore either. Another great video and quieter than Red Screes thankfully for you

Thanks for taking us up there Dave, and of course everybody needs clean credentials. It looks like you took one for the team with the Midge bites. There is a pretty sound theory that the Romans got no further than Hadrian‘s wall, what with their togas, because of the midges, it wasn’t waring Celtic tribes at all.

Not noticing the bite/cut and bloodflow sounds like blackflies to me. A nasty bunch. I looked them up and learned things about them, I didn't really want to know. I'd never heard of them till eight years ago. You can still see the marks where I was bitten. Luckily I had taken an anti-itch gel with cortisone with me. So I didn't scratch and the infection wasn't as bad as it could have been. Now I always take a repellant with me, but then forget to use it 😅. I don't really care where you go walking as long as it's in the mountains and fells. Of course Lake District videos are my favourites though. I hate those chair lifts, I seem to be too stupid to get off of them without hurting myself 😂. My parents had a mountain restaurant at 1700mtrs and we lived up there for 13 years. I'm sure glad we had a cabin cable car to get home. Oops, did I mention your superb filming and stunning drone footage of an awesome countryside and a beautiful sunrise. But that's a given 🎉. Take care

@medievalladybird3945 ай бұрын
@@TheSoloSummiteer hope you had a great time there inspite the mosquitoes. I only passed through Greece on the "hippie trail" to India and back in 1972, don't think we had a name for the trail then though. Keep walking !

Can't imagine you doing the WHW as it getsso busy, unless you do it out of season. No midgies then either 🤞the only time iIve had bites that drew blood were from clegs/horseflies but I've always felt them bite?

Love the Lakes, been up the mountains there for 30 yrs but for me Scotland beats every place uk or abroad I've been. Keep posting Scotland stuff, love all your content. Another cracking vid, as per, thanks for your time and effort creating them. As for the WHW, mmmm did it 10 yrs ago, great experience but too busy, too many pratts all the gear no idea, did it 5 days no probs, easy enough but if your not all over your fitness it'll hurt. My wife at the time ruined her achilles due purely to time and miles underfoot, so beware😅have to say was still a very worthwhile experience though but as others have said best done out of season to avoid the crowds

Cheers Dave. I’m still very much undecided. I certainly do it in the quieter months if I decided to try it. ATB 🙏🏻
