This was my first Scotch as others have said. I’m in a pattern of every other bottle is Glenlivet 12, and I’ll try some others. I’m finding that in the price range this is about as good as it gets. Definitely my favorite whiskey if I’m not drinking bourbon.

My first scotch was Johnnie Walker red. Hated it so much I didn't touch another drop of scotch for 20 years. Finally tried Glenlivet 12 and haven't looked back.

My first scotch was Johnnie Walker blue. Loved it so much I am trying to find a cheaper alternative! I had to follow suite with your post. Until recently scotch was absolutely disgusting. Blue label creates a monster!! Oban 14 was really good at about $80. I’m going try the Glen 12z

Hey Horst, I picked up two bottles of this today for £43 each when I was in Northern Ireland as it's hard to find in the Republic, but it's really a very nice whiskey, sweet juicy malty just as you described. I find it very close to the Bushmills 10 year which costs average about EUR40 here in the Republic. These are now my two go-to whiskeys!

For The Glenlivet fans out there; i recently bought the Glenlivet Rarecask triple cask matured. Batch. 9378/011. Only one word came to mind: Liquid gold! Been tasting many whiskies for several years, but never have i tasted such a perfectly balanced and spicy whisky. The downside is that you don’t want to drink other whiskies anymore that are considereably cheaper..... A very similar whisky/taste can be found in the Glenlived 18 yrs old. Both are in the same price range but deffinately worth it 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Glenlivet is lovely. Was just gifted a bottle of the 14 cognac cask. My girlfriend listened to my talk of scotch as a thing I've enjoyed exploring. So smooth if it rests for about 15 minutes no burn and tons of lovely flavors. Lovely both neat and with a large ice cube.

This was the first scotch I ever tried and it has been my top favorite whisky since. I got to say though, it would be nice if you featured more Canadian whiskies. I'd like to hear your thoughts on brands like Forty Creek, Pike Creek and Gibson's Finest.

I tried it without any ice or water and didn’t like it….I tried it the next day with a couple of ice cubes and let it melt a little bit and thought it was very good and smooth

My favourite whisky as a standard dram- glenlivet then glenmorangie, GlenKeith and the grouse, Im Scottish, just my fashion but good taste, just heavy abuse on tap. Your correct, Livet is the best!

Why dirs this box and lable look blue? Every one I've seen looks aqua green just like in the thumbnail on the far left.

It's his greenscreen setup. He even says it's green at 0:53. But he's in front of a greenscreen in order to show the distillery behind him, and so the aqua/teal color of the new packaging looks blue.

Which one is the best between Glenfiddich and Glenlivet?

I'm a fan of both. Equally great beginners single malts, I find the glenlivet 12 to have a less fruity top note but a longer lasting spicy end, while the glenfiddich 12 has a favorable apple/sweet top note but falls off quickly at the end. Preferably for me, I would say the glenlivet is a good after dinner sip while the glenfiddich is enjoyed anytime

First fill was terrible replacement for 12 yr old. If you are running out of that u have to wait till a new batch ages. In the time I can wait w the other GLEN! Lying is one thing but fraud is another. You committed a sin. Ran out of 12 yr old give us some 15yr old or lower price.

Glenlivet is the best Scotch for the price in the world, closely followed by The Balvenie. But I've had variations in quality between bottles. I sent one back due to the terrible tastes, and Glenlivet's parent company sent me a new 15 year old and it was great. But the original purchase from Amazon was awful.

The glenlivet 12 was where I started my malt journey,but I think you'll find Horst that the other 12 is matured in ex bourbon casks (so American oak) and the new 12 is matured in American & European oak. Or am I wrong.
