"The" dalmore 12. Would be my choice of the two. Great review. I love the tension!

Funny video guys. I like both. But tbh the glenlivet is a nice starter as a non aggressive quality yet economic scotch. The dalmore is also a quality economic scotch in the sherried category. In my opinion I would go with the Dalmore as it offers more flavor.

Its gotta be the Dalmore, The Glenlivet is very smooth and silky but the Dalmore has more flavor and depth.

I've got so many bottles of The Glenlivet and The Dalmore and I couldn't pick an absolute favorite between the two of them. I will say that the price of the 21 for The Glenlivet is only around $270 where The Dalmore 21 is a staggering $700+. I think The Dalmore 21 might be better than The Glenlivet but at more than double the price? I even have the 25 year of both of them and The Glenlivet was around $570 where The Dalmore was $1,300! Insanity, but I love having all of them in my personal collection!

I just tasted The Glenlivet 12 last week (the new design), after 5 year of not having a dram of it. I was so disappointed. I remember it being a bit better. I was so confuse because I used to love it. Yes, it's still smooth, fruity, but also felt it not well built-in within the notes. Cheers from México.

I have not had it since the grey box. I enjoyed it but don’t mourn it too long. There’s too many other quality offerings to try, unless it was your daily dram for years and you’ll miss it. Try the founders reserve. Not bad for the price. At Total wine they have one called grangestone 12 yr. it’s good stuff at $30-35. It used to be good starting range scotches were @ the $35-45 range. Unfortunately it’s now $50-70 for those same 10-12 yr old bottles

@@SaltyCuban I bought the Founder's the same day I got the 12 yo, but haven't open it yet. I know many hate it, but it's better to know by oneself. I've seen the Grangestone in stores. I'll give it try. Thanks for the recommendation. And yes, unfortunately the scotch is becoming a very expensive pleasure.

I am with Horst, I have found Dalmore overpriced and not doesn't have that wow element, 2 weeks ago I tried Dalmore Cigar Malt and paid almost $200 down here in Aus and definitely didn't worth that much at all, it should be around 70 to 80 at most, The Glenlivet for me is very tasty and exciting and can get a 12 or double oak for under $70 and 15 or 18 for just a bit over $130. Best value and taste. I've got the Code and illicit which are absolutely beautiful.

The new Glenlivet 12 is better than the older version and it is at an affordable price, when considering the quality. The Dalnore may be good, but overpriced

Dalmore is far superior then Glenlivet. Glenlivet is kinda like the Monkey Shoulder of single malts. It is nice for sure, but doesnt pack anything. Lacks flavor and deepness. Obviously there are people who are looking for that, but why if we just compare how much each single malt puts down on the table, flavor, richness, deepnes, it is definetly Dalmore. The only downside to Dalmore is that it is a little overpriced

Asians like the glenlivet because they are mixing it with red or green tea and shooting it so it’s senseless to use higher end scotches. They also go through ridiculous amounts of Chivas there because it’s cheap and you can’t tell the quality when drinking it that way. The main club I used to go to in Beijing was the number 1 selling account of chivas in the world, but we would occasionally have to use other brands like Johnny walker or glenlivet when they were running promotions for them.

Both of them are quite nice drams.....but it's a pitty that the abv is only 40%....it's chillfiltered and fake colour (E150)

Dalmore is totally superior. Glenlivet is a bland and is truly a true beginners whisky. However it is not possible to justify the price difference.

Dalmore 12 is a JOKE, coloured, chill-filtered and basic 40%, and over-priced, almost same with the "ok/so-so" Glenlivet 12. But I deserve the best and won't settle for less; I'll go for a GLENDRONACH 12 instead, best bang for buck in terms of quality & excellence.
