Teleprompter premium works great. I was using the parrot 2 app but it did not work as well. It kept skipping forward and the remote did not work at all. the teleprompter premium is a much better solution. very easy to read for those of us with poor eyesight. Keep up the good work.

Thank you @Handy Legal Answers! Yes, I’m still very pleased with this. I finally hooked up a BT keyboard from my iMac Pro, to control scrolling, quick edits, etc. in Teleprompter Premium app. This combination is brilliant!

Thank you for the review, David! I have experienced there is a huge benefit on using a teleprompter, the option has helped me a ton to level up my video skills, especially talking heads. I present using the PPT-Mirror tool method to mirror-flip my existing slides and display them in TTL (through the lens) in teleprompter is a definitive guide to master eye contact with clients because I don't have to read word for word as I always have my whole concept in front of camera, I just use bullet points structure to avoid over-scripting myself out to keep my conversation on target... it is a great option that is helpful in delivering professional narration.

Hey Adriaan. Thanks for watching! I still love this thing, after one year of use. Watching my past year videos closely, you’d notice that I sometimes don’t use it. If it’s a quick video segment, I may not script it (you’ll hear the odd, “um”, etc.). In any case, I depend on it regularly. I hope you like it too! Let me know if you have questions, and I’ll try to respond expeditiously! 😎👍

You need to either get rid of the room tone reflection or match your audio edits to the same room tone. If you need help DM me.
@LivingTech
@LivingTech 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tony. I assume you mean sampling the room noise floor, and subtracting that from the overall waveform. When the noise is worse than this, I do just that, using Adobe Audition, especially if it is consistent. I also sometimes sample the fan noise, and subtract that out when it kicks in. Is this the kind of thing you mean? (When I click on your name, I don't get the option to DM you.)
@tonyr.4778
@tonyr.4778 3 жыл бұрын
@@LivingTech not quite. It's not the room noise as much as the early reflections that give it a slight echo and that gives the impression of the size of the room. Removing the ambient room noise from the original or adding it to the edit will help, but you will still hear the edit. There are some plugins that address that specific issue. The two that come to mind are altiverb, which would allow you to sample the room acoustics using an impulse like a clap or pink noise, then the room characteristics (including early reflections) can be saved as a preset and used like a reverb any time you do an audio insert. The other is a plugin that analyses the sound and removes the reverb (de-verb) from the original. Which works better, the adding or removal, is a try and see effort. The reason spectral analysis and removal doesn't work in this case is the sound that is the problem doesn't exist in the room tone, but only when you talk. Hope that helps. Of course the simplest option is to record the inserted audio clip using the same mic in the same setup. Even though it may be done on another day, the sound should be close enough to work.

@@tonyr.4778 Thanks so much for this response! OK, I get it, and will try! I care very much about the audio, as it makes or breaks a video, in my view. I'll first look back at my setup, which mic(s)/preamp I used, etc. to get a baseline. I have noticed that while the room noise subtraction function helps, as you've already said, it doesn't address the early reflections, as you've also said. Further, while I do use the deverb tool built into Premiere Pro or Audition, I tone it down, because it begins to sound artificial at a certain point. I'm very possibly applying it in a sub-optimal way. I'm currently working on S-Log-3 on my Sony A7SIII, but will hit on the audio per your advice after I've figured out the video. My email address is livingtech AT gmail.. If you are willing to answer a couple of questions while I nail this at some point in the very near future, would you kindly email me there?

Hi Joelle. Since I think 2y ago, I've always shot at 4K, never any problems. This video was shot at 4K, and parts of it used the teleprompter.

That is very cool, but wow is that a bit professional! That is so raising the bar for my expectations of what you will be producing. I didn't expect the camera to view through it - perfect outcome of you looking right at the camera, and didn't see your eyes moving. Nice.

RockWater Consulting Thank you! I really appreciate that feedback. I won’t always use this, but I certainly will for the more complex videos. If I told you how long editing takes for the “shoot from the hip” videos that are more complex, I’m not sure you’d even believe me! 🤦‍♂️

Also, note that the lighting has to be “just so”, to see the camera lens through the glass so clearly. It’s not visible when I’m reading from it.

Hi Great Explanation, Thank you for the info... what do you think about using powerpoint in a teleprompter with an iPad and BT pedal page flip to switch the slides, isn't it better than using apps that forces you to read word for word?
@LivingTech
@LivingTech 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Andries! Great question! Yes, PowerPoint, definitely! In fact, I’ve already tried this (actually, using Keynote, but same thing), and the combination is perfect. I used an out-of-frame BT keyboard as the remote, an an ATEM Mini to bring in 3 other camera angles and PnP. Let us know how well it works for you!

@@LivingTech I found PPT Mirror App to mirror-flip my slides for an iPad (within some seconds) and use it in a Teleprompter, the combination leads me while I speak to keep my speech natural because I don't read word for word and keeps the conversation on target without reading the script so that I keep my eyes directly into the camera lens.

Hi Andries! I see what you are saying now, about PowerPoint slides. I was using an ATEM Mini to switch between video sources, outputting to my screen, an attached monitor, and outputting to Zoom via a webcam. My presentation itself was not transmitted through the teleprompter hardware. Your app sounds great!

Hi David. An interesting product. I have one question off the bat: can it vary the speed of the scrolling as you talk? There are times when you might want to make a point more slowly, or speed up something to almost skip over it. I had the good fortune to fiddle with a professional television promoter many years ago. Large, awkward but an essential piece of gear. For KZbin videos this seems to be about perfect, and you certainly can't argue with the price for the gear you are receiving. Thanks for another interesting post.
@LivingTech
@LivingTech 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Chuck. Great question! There is an option for keyboard control, which will allow you or somebody else to arrow the speed up or down, as you speak. There is no option to pre-program different scrolling speeds for different sections of the script in real-time, or to recognize your speech (a feature that I suggested at 15:12 as being a nice-to-have addition) and adjust with you as you speed up, slow dow, and/or go off-topic. For KZbin videos, it's fine to finish one thought, make some changes to your teleprompter scroll speed, then continue on. Not being real-time is quite helpful in circumstances like this. :)

Hi Thank you for the review, Maybe also interesting I use Glide GearTMP100 with my powerpoint presentations slides using my iPad with the slides mirrored and flipped with ppt-mirror.com tool...the advantage is the tool does not force me to read word for word so my speech remain natural and it helps me not to memorize the script by simply use my existing slides,very helpful in recording sales videos on demand.

Like the voice recognition idea for folks asking you/ I questions !!

Thank you Ian! I generally like to just have an outline, and go from there, but sometimes there’s too much to say, too many specs I want to cover, etc. It’s incredible how much time it takes to edit those videos, so a teleprompter is basically essential for ones like that.
