Follow us on our gliding adventure as we push the limits and strive to break the distance record by gliding across the sea from Denmark to Sweden. After covering 840 km and spending 9 hours in the air, we returned to Denmark.

small float on the sea and line up to glider that moves up like a kite and backwards cos float moves but has some resistance too from the water...could work

Just a joke to show how little confidence people have in my flying skills.

In this form, the video is not informative. What altitude did you start from, what distance did you glide and what altitude were you when you arrived in Sweden? Thanks.

Great. As you had 20 minutes discussion with ATC Sweden during the flight, would you next time contact them some time beforehand to avoid this while flying?
@FlyWithMinik6 ай бұрын
Yes, we will call them next time. But we will also try to avoid that airspace next time.

Impressing ! Do you have flight track ? I'm interested to see it ;)

Nice filming, nice Arcus M, but not sure what the record was? As a motor glider and they could have self launched, flown across the sea climbing and gliding both ways with no aerotow necessary.
@FlyWithMinik10 ай бұрын
The distance from the takeoff destination to the starting point of the task, is far beyond the range of a selflaunch glider, when we need to keep a fuel reserve for safety reasons. The safe release altitude is 13.000'. All info is available in the article nordicgliding-com.translate.goog/havkrydser-med-flaps/?_x_tr_sl=da&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=da&fbclid=PAAaavkVHsbVOKlch6-

wait, did both you and the towplane drop the rope at 1:08? Was it too risky for Dimona to descend with the rope?
@FlyWithMinik Жыл бұрын
We released from the tow rope in the glider 🙂 The tow plane can retract the rope with an electric winch inside the plane.

@@FlyWithMinik ok thanks, perhaps it's just the video then because I thought it was she plane that released. Great flight, make more of those :-)

I offered a friend to do a similar flight with me as a pilot but he said no since he did not have a wetsuit….

Where were you planning to fly? 🙂
@erhardspies450311 ай бұрын
Your glider is registered in Germany, and it's a powered glider, I could tell this from the registration number in the dashboard. But you don't say anything about the flight path. And what language are you using in the cockpit? It's not German.
@FlyWithMinik6 ай бұрын
We speak Danish in the cockpit. The flight path is available in the article in Nordic Gliding Magazine: nordicgliding-com.translate.goog/havkrydser-med-flaps/?_x_tr_sl=da&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=da&fbclid=PAAaavkVHsbVOKlch6-wwcA5slg0vkZs-Z5KWW9TBoNBziWuytQiE7O6NvNP8
