First time ever finding out that gliders literally fly using ONLY thermals, absolutely mind boggling that such a plane can go so great of a distance using an initial jump in the beginning. Just amazes me that your constantly scanning your area and readings for thermal drafts don't know how you maintain such a easy head. Phenomenal work Lad.

Hi Stefan Great to see the European Gliding Scene is still as friendly as ever I flew in the then West Germany while serving in the RAF in the 1980's from a number of clubs We had 3 Military clubs then and we flew from Venlo in Holland, Kamp Limpfort, Borken Hoxfeld, Emmerich, while flying from our 2 clubs on the German Holland boarder. Then while at Gutersloh we flew from Orlinghausen, Vennebeck, Buckieburg, Achmer and a few others I can't remember fun fun days loved my Gliding there and Love your VLOG's

Awesome - very cool to be able to stuff everything you need into the tiny space behind your seat. To pull this off in the US you'd have to bring your own tow plane or - in Bruno's case - your own winch. There just aren't enough glider operations that you would be able to get off the ground the next day without that. Look forward to the next episode!

Great flying. Get a metal bottle instead of the plastic one. Then you can have nice cool, non plasticised water. As always, inspirational flying Stefan. Did you have to radio your intention’s over the military airfield at all? They had a lot of Boeing C-17 globe masters down there. We have those locally out of Fairford in the UK. Really big planes! I used to fly locally and occasionally I would spot Hercules 130 down below at circa 500’ AGL doing low level exercises. Moons ago I used to service them.

I see your glider is a LS3. I just starting to learn about gliders, but you seem to have a good financial backing and that bird is quite old now and a relatively lower glide ratio 40:1 [ wikipedia, lol ] I thought closer to 50:1 would be needed to win a contest [ I'm very wrong ]. So could you do a vid on the reality of what is important in a glider, because I and many others really don't know what you and the other guys who have been living the dream know. This could save wasting what is to me and many others a LOT of money on what is not really needed/desired. Thank you for your time Stefan.

You must tell them of the sea-heroes, of their mighty deeds and distant voyages. All these stories must be told by the fireside and in the field, wherever it may be, in times of joy or sorrow; and if you wish to impress it on the brains and the hearts of your sons, you must let it flow through the lips of your wives and your daughters.
