That thing stops on a dime! My normal jet doesn't have autodumping, thrust reversers or autobraking. Currently learning to fly the Express and your videos have been an invaluable resource for getting acquainted with the cockpit and overall ops. Keep up the great work!

Welcome back Jean. Its great to see you back in the air. It is so sad that all of us in the aviation industry have suffered so much but I can see that it is picking up from a "global" perspective. Hoping for more of your great videos popping up. Take care and stay safe, Shaun 👍

I live right by there, and although based at VNY I have landed my classic in CRQ it's pretty easy. Nicely done. We have those leading edge thingies that do wonders!

Might be a stupid question but if you’re taking off from a strip that’s about 4500 ft how long of a range would that give you? Say with crew and 3-5 passengers.
@GlobalLife2 жыл бұрын
Not at all! Probably 8h-9h range. Also depends on the temperature and elevation. Sea level on a cool morning, we're going places ;)

Hey, so I’m curious. Did you use high or medium brakes? I fly an Xrs and haven’t used high or medium yet. Landed in Florence today (pretty short) and was advised not to use them.
@GlobalLife2 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed! I've used all settings and they all work extremely well. On shorter runways where braking is critical I look at the advisory distance numbers on the FMS and will select MED/HI based on which setting will allow the use of the runway distance available. I've never heard anything against the use of brakes, except in times where you might be looking at brake temp limited departure (quick turn in Florence?)
@bryangorman8902 жыл бұрын
@@GlobalLife thanks for the reply! It was about a little over an hour so not a terrible quick turn. It was more of a “you should never use high under any circumstance, it’s too aggressive.” I’m of the use every resource if needed especially on a 4774 runway and on the heavier side.
@GlobalLife2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely me as well. Airplane was certified and designed with it, it's a tool to use! It is aggressive, and I suggest doing it empty first - get used to how it grabs and pulls the nose down hard (you need yoke back pressure) and sure it's not the most comfortable for people in the back. I remember landing in Cascais, Portugal at night and high autobrake was a great tool to use.
@dreamaviation3813 жыл бұрын
Great video! What was your approach speed and landing speed? How much runway did you used?
@GlobalLife3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! We typically approach between 110-120kts depending on weight
@GlobalLife3 жыл бұрын
I think we used about 3500' :)

Could a 7500 land at Donegal International Airport (winner of the worlds most senic landing spot award 2018, 2019 & 2020) with a runway length of 4,908ft. I'd like to know before i spend 77 million pounds on one.
@GlobalLife3 жыл бұрын
I don't fly the 7500 sadly but my assumption based on my aircraft (the XRS) performance is "most likely yes"
@taffytop3 жыл бұрын
@@GlobalLife I'll get my cheque book out then. Put Donegal International Airport on your list of places to land. Your videos are Great btw.

The earlier,shorter runway at Hilton Head Island wasn’t a big deal when I flew the Global. LPCS outside of Lisbon is okay at about 4200’. We are looking at LeMole, FR at 3500’
