@@Freight360 I’m only moving a small amount of containers so it’s not a large enough sample size so I haven’t but was curious for the future. What margins do you normally put on containers? It’s a good bit of work especially for strict appointment times and complex moves, not to mention if you only have 2 free days, you have to stay very organized.

@@TBb____ agreed. The trade off is usually volume over margin. Meaning they aren’t high margin in this market. Depends on mileage, but $50 -$100 for short runs up to $250 for longer runs. Time plays a big part in it as well. If you’re being tendered the load on LFD the margin goes up. When congestion occurs and everyone struggles to get them out by LFD the margin goes up a lot because it cost a few hundred in storage if it’s not pulled in time. You’ll also be able to charge daily storage margins if you have a carrier with a yard.

One last thing if you don’t mind, from my very minor knowledge, it would seem that for a 1 man, cradle to grave brokerage, it seems like Drayage would be the most manageable due to its repetitive nature, for someone who has a very very busy life outside of brokering. It is pretty much the same lanes and same carriers monthly. What are your thoughts?
