The Angry Faceclass has had a huge revamp. Hand size change and viable summon build, hybrid options. Can play many roles dipping into any particular archetype (albeit most people will pick ranged striker I assume) but I am so happy that this facelift... angry facelift ...ha.ghsoih; sorry. I'm so happy how it's turned out.

Only started Frosthaven recently and am learning about the 2.0 Gloomhaven classes. This class is the most unrecognizable to the original so far for me. I think I prefer the 1.0 sniper fantasy to the 2.0 heavy summon fantasy, but I do like switching some of these dooms and traps to perks and attacks. I do wonder if the amount of summon focus steps on other summon classes’ toes. I can’t wait to see.

So what have they done with “circles”? The summons here seem like something that fits that class more. Are they turning “circles” into a boneshaper clone?

10:10 I really like the bottom of The Hunt Begins, or at the very least the idea of it, since I haven't played myself. Being able to subvert the Monster AI and focus your summons seems like a nice ability, and they get a bonus to their attacks.

Played this recently as a hybrid striker/leader. Can confirm Hunt Begins is great. Had a great time with my danger noodle animal companion, and output tons of damage still and tons of healing with the Solid Bow doom. Was great fun.

In OG Gloomhaven, I felt summons were the worst part of the game. Traps next. It seems that you guys have worked to improve them.

Love the enthusiasm, but I feel there's an overcommitment with these videos to champion every single card as good rather than offering objective analysis. Camouflage's top is not that good post-nerf. It's not just "stand next to a wall and it's the same". The invisibility ends at the end of the round, meaning the character can't rely on in the way invisibility needs to be reliable. Angry Boy has plenty of fast initiative, so this forces him to go early next round to avoid the undercuts. I get it, it's just not great. The Hunt Begins is not a great top action. Wasn't before, isn't now. It's situationally decent, that's the best that should be said about it. The class exceled at single-target-eliminating MVP. Now it feels like it's kind of lowered down to just being another damage contributor for two or three hit kills.

Interesting trade-off for Dooms as a whole. You can target objectives now, but they require Line Of Sight. There were some pretty funny consequences of Dooms not needing LoS, some but I'm really glad the whole thing with targeting objectives is clear now. Objectives with health were always sort of confusing when it came to how they interact with other rules and abilities, so I'm glad this is rather clear.

So 1) you put a DOOM token on an enemy and then you can play as many DOOM cards onto that DOOMED enemy as you want?? Or 2) you can only play one DOOM card per DOOMED ally?? I think it's 1. But that's so fun!

New Circles is incredible. Also the summon build for doomstalker is legit fantastic. I did not like summons in 1.0 lol

Maybe my least favorite unlockable class in the base game because it felt like there was a "right" build and after this review this is frankly the first class rework except maybe tinkerer to make me want to buy 2E
