I was raised a Methodist too and we sang it after doing the offering oh how I miss the hymns today

As I recall, this was done after the collection plates were passed. This is the version I was raised on. Good memories🎵

In my Methodist church we sang the Doxology after the offering!

@@donaldjensen I stand corrected. The Doxology comes after "The Offering of Our Tithes & Gifts", in other words, after the plates are passed. Gloria Patri must come towards the end of the service. I love 'em both! As you can see, I haven't been to church in a while.

This is the version we sang in my little Methodist Church when I was young. We sang this after the sermon, if I remember correctly!

Sang this version in my Free Lutheran church when I was a kid. When I heard Morgan Freeman recite words from this in his National Geographic documentary on God, I had to figure out where I remembered them. Thank you!
