I find your videos informative but wanted to express some caution. For context, I am a 63-year-old small boned female (5’ 1’’ and 100 lbs.) I have lived with osteoporosis for 15 years. As a nurse I have performed much research on this subject and have consulted an endocrinologist and other specialists. I follow a mostly plant-based, alkaline diet with some fresh fish and occasional chicken. I consume dark leafy greens, grains, etc. I eat no processed or fried food and the only indulgence I allow myself is a few squares of very dark chocolate. I drink green tea twice a day. I exercise 7 days a week and this includes weight bearing and strength training. I have tried many of the supplements that you have discussed. Despite this, I have not been able to reverse my osteoporosis. Everything I do has certainly assisted in my cardiovascular health and in my general health, but it has not reversed this terrible condition. I just had to express that what you discuss may keep osteoporosis from getting worse, it may be misleading to state that it can be reversed. I know that I am just a fall away from a potentially life-changing fracture.

Many of us have reversed it, so it is quite possible. Dr. Shostek is being consulted by several of my viewers at this time as they have unusual circumstances going on in their bodies that other specialists (MDs) have missed. There is always hope.

Thanks for your response and I do appreciate your content. Yes anything is possible but all of the scholarly literature speaks to keeping osteoporosis stable rather than complete reversal. I would have to see before and after T scores and other objective measures especially if one has a t-score of -3.0. It is true that some people may have other medical/ genetic issues contributing to osteoporosis and if that is addressed it can assist in building bone. In my case I am doing everything I can yet cannot reverse it despite being tested for other possible contributing factors.

I do believe one can reverse osteoporosis. I have been suffering from osteoporosis for a long time, since I first had dexa test in 2011, probably longer than that. Doctor at the hospital stated that it can be reversed with strength training, as heavy weights as one can manage to do. A couple of women in the gym have reversed it over 20 years of doing body pump, yoga, pilates.

I now have osteopenia. I do yoga, pilates, zumba and mainly strength training. Take all the stated supplements. I do not have much meat, but have fish mainly and occasionally chicken. Lot of veggies and salad, organic virgin olive oil. Rebounder helps a lot.

New to your channel. I like your overall presentation, and the info you're sharing. Iam 63 as well , and had a sciatica nerve issue. That's when I was told there was osteoarthritis in my right knee. I started to research natural remedies for both issues.The meds that were being prescribed for them were not working. I began to drink acv, tumeric, cayenne pepper & ginger in warm water. Made a paste of those spices in olive oil ,applied it to my knee & legs. Also started exercising regularly and switched the inflammatory foods & oils The pain is gone . I have no other major health issues, not on any meds. I am interested in building bones & the vit.k sup... subscribed !!!

That's amazing! The combination of ingesting + topical. How did they originally diagnose osteoarthritis in the knee? Is it through an x-ray? Ultrasound? MRI?

Something worth a mention is that Dexa scans do not actually show the strength of your bones I think it’s better to mostly focus on building good muscle because that builds strong bones eating mostly plantbased yes lots of the greens that are low in oxalates like watercress kale bokchoy A dexa scan compares you to a 30 year olds bones so I don’t have them anymore 😊

True. Dexa scans only indicate how well your bones absorb x-rays. Not valid test. And they compare to 35 year old bones.

Thank you, Gloria for your video and your commitment to educate us. You’re an angel. My mom is named Gloria . I prayed, forgot to send me good information for someone that is honest does his research cause I’ve been having trouble with my left side out of the blue I had a fall Last December twice the second time I felt I think was I had more weight on my fault and just in January. I felt discomfort on my knee which is explainable. I never went to the doctor for it. I asked for an x-ray to see if I needed a therapy which are poly do because it feels really stiff and it just hurts for me to Style or even sit on it like when I’m on the couch… But then all of a sudden in February February I started feeling like a pain on the side of my femur on my left side and my left hip. I know they diagnosed me with osteopenia a few years ago… But the only thing they told me is, you’ll be OK just don’t do heavyweights and Take your vitamin D3 and your calcium. They educate me on how much my levels were how much I should be taking what type of exercises they didn’t say it was reversible so since then I just been doing a lot of walking and I confess I had not been doing any type of strength and conditioning. I was in faith on taking my calcium, but I do take vitamin D three please please please can you doctor. Not me, but give me a list of people you would trust in the Texas area, Corpus Christi or San Antonio Texas I want to be cured naturally I do everything natural, and if you could tell me which supplements will be great to take, but then again, I have to make a doctors appointment and ask for my levels. What should I be asking for right now? I’m following Dr. Livingood and he is amazing, but I want to start following you and I’m so blessed I came across your KZbin video❤ please Gloria respond back if you could help me

I'm glad you found my channel, too. I cannot refer you to a doctor in TX because I don't know of any. The only doctor I can refer you to in order to address osteoporosis is Dr. Shostek. She and I discussed what it is like for my viewers who've chosen to work with her via telemedicine in this video - kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYq2dmRombWMars In the meantime, I have many videos about osteoporosis, and they're all on one playlist with the most recent video at the top and the oldest video at the bottom. Hi!! I have been plant based the last 25 years, after my parents died young from heart disease after high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes. I am 59 and the only one of my siblings not on high blood pressure meds or statins! I’ve watched most of your videos but missed how you were diagnosed with bone loss, my dr won’t order a dexa scan til I’m 65 since I don’t have risk factors, but I may pay out of pocket for it.

Good for you! Like me, you didn't wait until you had health issues to make changes. And now, like me, you're the only person in your family with no comorbidities. For all of them, it's never too late for them to change their diets and get their health back (while kicking meds to the curb). I'd suggest you find a local chiropractor who will search for the best price for a dexa scan in your area, and who will then order the scan for you. (Or you can do the research on the facilities in your area. Call to ask what their price is for a "cash paying" patient for a dexa scan.)

😊check Dr.Osborne's clip...dexa scan just tells you how your bones absorb x-ray radiation, not how strong and flexible they are. Maybe Collagen (70% of bones), magnesium and boron to keep calcium in the bones and D3+K2 to absorb calcium 20times and bring it to the bones.😊

The best way to search my channel (if I don't reply to your comment timely) is to search my KZbin channel itself, and you can only do that on a computer because KZbin put that channel-specific search field on their computer-based platform, but didn't put that field on the mobile (phone or tablet) platform. So on my channel on a computer, when you can see the menu ("Home", "Videos", "Shorts", "Live", "Playlists", etc.) go all the way over to the right of "About" and click the blank space. When you do that, then the little magnifying glass will appear. Click that little magnifying glass and your cursor will be in the Search field. Type "kale", press Enter, and see what pops up. I have a kale salad recipe there, too. KZbin looks at the video titles and text in the Description Box for the word "kale" (it also checks the Tags we added behind the scenes). I've apparently mentioned "kale" in several videos. I clicked the first one that's about osteoporosis. Then I opened the Transcript - which, for me, is a magical world of quickly finding the part of the video I want (rather than watching the entire video again which, as a KZbinr, I shouldn't tell you because Watch Time is "king" here on YT). Below the video on the right are 3 dots ... Click those dots and you'll get a drop-down menu, where you will see "Show Transcript" - click it! That opens the transcript on the right side. Sometimes there is a field at the top to "Search in video" where I typed "kale". If the search field is missing, I'll press Cntl+F to search it. That gave me the text where I said the word "kale". It looks like 5:28 is where I showed that recipe and popped the pre-chopped kale into the pan. This is the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z5_OkIdqpridZpo But do a search on my channel anyway in case you want to find my other videos where I mentioned kale. (I spent years as an instructional designer, mostly on software. It's like I can't help myself....I just start writing and instructing!)

Humans were born to eat animal protein (meat) for thousands of years. The food industry has brainwashed us for the last 100 years that we need highly processed addictive food. Since when is cereal healthier than having steak and eggs? The food industry is also in bead with Pharma. They make you sick and then you need to be on 15 meds and just want to kill yourself because of all the drug interactions. They want only the 1% to be able to eat meat and be healthy Who are they? The WEF, WHO, the globalist that want us as stupid sheep that do what they say I am mostly meat and an not on any meds and feel great, and I am NOT overweight and have the energy to exercise every day

Thank you so much for the information. I have been taking the grow bone system of garden of life for 6 months but my DXA not due till Dec of 2024. Should I start taking half of the grow bone system or I should wait till I get my DXA then decide. What happen if I take the full dose would it build too much bone? Thank you again
@gloryb-tv
@gloryb-tv 2 ай бұрын
I probably took it for 2 or 3 years at the regular dosage before I cut it back. Remember, it's not a drug. It's a supplement. You're not likely to build too much bone - not real bone, anyway. The drugs can make your bones do weird things that make a dexa scan "look better", but as Dr. Shostek said in the first video, the drugs create "cheap bone". Supplements just help your body to build real bone.

I have pretty advanced osteoporosis, and recently broke my right leg at my hip. I would like to improve the health of my bones. I eat plant based, no oil, and avoid added salt and sugar. I'm back into exercise with the PT from my fall, and subsequent surgery. My doctor wants me to take a couple Reclast infusions. I've had one. What do you think of continuing with this plan?

Since you had a bone break, I suggest you contact True North Health Center - www.healthpromoting.com/ This is the center run by Dr. Alan Goldhamer. You might have other internal issues happening that are contributing to the bone loss. In recent years True North added the option to do telemedicine with them if going to Santa Rosa won't work for you. They've helped thousands of people overcome so many unusual things.

Hello glory. My wife and I love your channel and listen to it often. Just a quick question my wife started on algae CAL around 4 1/2 months ago and just recently switched to the other brand you mentioned. Recently she started to have some problems, stomach upset and lightheadedness to the point of almost passing out. I know these are some symptoms of the strontium Ranelate But not a lot is written about the strontium citrate that’s in the algae CAL and the other product. Do you or does anyone on here have similar problems? I don’t know if it’s the supplement or something else thank you so much

Usually when people have digestive issues with the supplements, the issue is with the calcium, not the strontium. I've linked in several videos to this article about strontium: bit.ly/3LTkgPX

I found this article (linked at the bottom of my comment) about the study you may be referring to. It says: 1. They found evidence of bone loss when higher doses were used 2. The researchers "call for further clinical studies to track bone- and muscle-related changes with long-term use of Botox for TMJD, or temporomandibular muscle and joint disorders" 3. The researchers were from NYU College of Dentistry In my opinion, (1) they need to define what they mean by "higher doses". We're all guessing what "higher doses" means. and (2) I think a lot more research is warranted. www.news-medical.net/news/20200915/Higher-doses-of-Botox-may-lead-to-bone-loss-shows-study.aspx

Thank you… I guess depends on what high doses are. Thanks for sharing your info. I would love to also know what you use for hormones.. as that’s also a cause for bone loss. I have reversed my celiac due to being vegan/whole foods. Love to hear your thoughts 🙏

@@gloryb-tvthat’s interesting. I’m so happy to hear you reversed your osteo without any creams. I was worried I needed to add them. I’m very young to have these issues but I believe my celiac & not digesting my food or vitamins have been a cause for osteo. I believe I’m 3.2 & I really hope I can reduce it. Just worried if I don’t, I will have severe issues in my 60’s as I’m only 43. I’ve watched most of your stuff & hoping the rest will help shed some insight. My Dr told me about the Actonel & Fosamax. He said these don’t cause calcification in arteries etc. But I don’t feel they would reverse.. just not worsen I guess. Thanks again for replying & spreading awareness 🙏

If don't go to the gym and just do the exercises that you do at home, and take Grow Bone, will I still build bone. I used to go to the gym, but when I had my car accident in 2010 I had a lot of issues, and never went back. Then back in 2018 I found out I had carpel tunnel in both hands and osteoporosis in both thumbs. I had carpel tunnel surgery on my left hand in 2018, and thumb surgery on my left thumb in October of 2022. I would love to go back to the gym, but I don't dare with Covid and people that have had the Covid vaccine, I don't want to go back in an environment where you share equipment. I would not feel safe in that environment anymore.

How did your thumbs feel with osteoporosis in your thumbs. I broke my left pinkie and now my left thumb has numbness. My hand surgeon couldn’t provide an answer and said he would research it if it didn’t stop in a few months. Thank you for your answer. @EliseAngelofHealing
@EliseAngelofHealing 8 ай бұрын
@@lisawinfield543I really don't know what is going on with your thumb. My thumb never went numb. Now with carpel tunnel my some of my fingers went numb. Maybe you should look into seeing if you may have carpel tunnel, or you could have damaged nerve ending around your thumb when you fractured your pinky. That could cause the numbness. My thumb pain was was 10 with a scale from 1 - 10 and 10 being the worst. My thumb started getting sore when putting on gloves back in 2016. I stuck it out until after my mother passed away in Jan of 2018. I was diagnosed with carpel tunnel in both hands, Basal joint arthritis in both thumbs, which is thumb osteoarthritis, and Moderate osteoporosis of the second and third metacarpophalangeal joints of the left hand back in July of 2018. I had surgery for the carpel tunnel in August 2018. I also had a trigger finger which I eventually had surgery for as well. That was my ring finger on my right hand. I had cortisone shots for both thumbs and trigger finger until I had surgery. I know that was not good for my bones, but I mentally was not ready for surgery on my thumb. I found another doctor while I was going for physical therapy for my thumbs to make them stronger. I was so ready for surgery. I had gone 6 years with terrible pain in both thumbs. My left thumb is now healed after having surgery a year ago. but I still have to baby my right thumb so I don't injure it any more. You can read about basal joint arthritis in this article. www.healthline.com/health/basal-joint-arthritis. I really hope you find out why your thumb is numb. Maybe you should try getting a second opinion. Some doctors are better than others. The first hand doctor I went to wanted me to be in a cast for six weeks. The doctor who I had to perform the surgery only requested two weeks and then therapy. Some doctors are old school, with old technology.
