Glue Pull Dent Repair on Brand New Mercedes Electric Car

How I fix a dent when there is no access.

As I continue my journey into crafting videos to illustrate the intricacies of this craft, my aim is to condense the process into a brief yet comprehensive timeframe. I seek to create Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) content that is easily accessible and understandable to viewers of all backgrounds.

In the process, it gives me the opportunity to self critique and scrutinize my own technique through the mind’s eye, almost like an out of body experience.
HINDSIGHT 20/20
While editing, I notice potential improvements in my approach. In hindsight, using the red glue (Dent Out Red) with a higher operating temperature might have been more efficient, requiring panel heating to around 95°. The impact on the process speed is uncertain, but what's certain is preserving the original paint and condition of this brand-new vehicle.
THE BACKSTORY
A dealer client who calls me for their pickiest customers brought this very recently sold Mercedes EQE to my shop in Upland. This thing only had 200 miles on it! Obviously, the customer wanted this to be perfect.
OPEN IT UP
Located on the roof rail with no rear panel access, my sole option was a glue pull. In this process, I tap and pull repeatedly, termed as "opening up the dent" or "bowling it out." The objective is to reshape the dent into a rounder form at the bottom, reducing its sharpness with each cycle.
NARROW MARGIN FOR ERROR
This particular technique is tricky, because there is a narrow margin for error. Tapping it down excessively and essentially re-creating the dent, can create scratches in the paint and divots in the metal. While pulling repeatedly with a glue tab can also risk pulling the paint right off the panel. Careful and mindful technique is required in order to produce factory spec results.
The glue that I used:
Dent Out Red (warmer operating temperature)
Swiss Blue (colder operating temperature)
Tabs:
Dent Reaper hex tabs
Keco Dead Center Crease tabs
