I never knew before that there was training to learn PDR. I learned PDR in TOYOTA PLANT, and no one taught us, but we learned it by ourselves; we just used our common sense like a raven that picked up worn inside the wood hole back then now, it's a good thing to watch and listen to the theory. Tnx, I found this youtube

I’m not sure exactly what you’re asking, however the main difference in tapping down on aluminum vs steel is the pressure it takes.

Well I have heard that you could not remove dents from aluminum hoods on most new cars and I am in the process of Getting car that has hail damage and was wondering if it was worth trying this or just buying a new hood and trunk

Completely false. We repair aluminum panels all the time.

Do you prefer dropping the headliner and using rods for severe hail damage? Or glue pulls? What would you start with in that situation?

From my own experience as a body shop tech. The guys doing PDR almost always ask us to drop the headliner if the car has hail damage.

So you're going after the high spots? That's where you put the PDR tool? What if you can't get behind the dent? (Behind the panel)

If it’s a high spot you have to tap it down. If it’s a shallow or a “low” that’s when you push with a tool.. if you can’t get behind the panel IE; roof rail where it’s double walled then you would have to glue pull it.

Heat will depend on how sharp and or how stretched the metal is.

Man, that's actually around half of what I'd guess. Plenty of money to be made with a basic set of tools and a course like this

The glue sticks to the car more than it does to rhe pulling tip and I end up doing more damage scraping the glue off the car than the dent did too begin with???????
