I’ll give it a try. My right hip has been killing me, and I love to walk. Good tips for a healthy lifestyle. Thank you.

Your video was clear and helpful! I've been having problems with ischial bursitis - did a search on your channel and couldn't find any videos on it. Would you consider doing one in the near future? Thank you 🥰

Oh I've had this. No fun! My Ortho surgeon had to do a steroid injection. Happened two or three times several years apart. Helped a lot.

Glad to hear the injection helped. Yes, this condition can be extremely painful.

Thanks very much. These tips seem extremely insightful and good! I am eager to try them, carefully, of course. I've had this left side hip pain for years now, more since the covid years I think from deconditioning owing to lockdowns. I used to hike a lot, very strong, but not any more. I really want to regain my old self.

Wonderful! Glad you found them helpful. Changes in activity levels ( up or down) can really irritate this condition. You can return to that level with consistent strengthening and exercises. Some general helpful tips: 1) Find the right Entry Point for exercise for that point in time ( frequency, intensity and duration), usually 3x/week, every other day is a good starting point 2) Gradually progress the intensity of the exercises as your symptoms allow 3) Probably going to take months not weeks 4) You will be amazed if you are consistent for 3-6 weeks how much better and stronger you feel 5) Flare-ups will happen, allow time to rest/recovery prior to start up again, usually a few days is all that is needed. Have to be able to exercise be active in a gray area 6) Often pain is more about irritation than damage

@@PerformanceSportSpine Thanks again! I think I am guilty of overdoing it. I always tend to do exercises every day, but at my older age now, this may be counter-productive. I really notice how much smaller and weaker my bad left leg and thigh are compared to my good leg! Concerning. Makes me wonder what is really going on there. I have pain also directly at left rear SIJ. Thanks again - I will be trying your exercises very gradually and slowly.

How about shooting pain in buttock. When I put my left heal down when walking the shooting pain is just awful. Please help ! Is this siatica or lower back issues. I do have L4 L5 facet joint area issues. Thank you
@PerformanceSportSpine2 жыл бұрын
If the leg pain is worse than back pain and leg pain goes past knee, that increases the likelihood of sciatica. However, impossible to tell, other structures can also refer pain. One of these videos should help: Sciatica: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6iYgauMo5qiatE ; Piriformis Syndrome: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6XGk4pnp6l4mNU

If I do hamstring stretch the pain and real tightness goes away for hrs. Yet not supposed to stretch like this? Confused as it really relieves the pain.
@PerformanceSportSpine5 ай бұрын
Because like you said, it only helps for several hours, (symptoms). The focus needs to be on the root cause to help resolve this long-term. If you have been stretching for 2 or more weeks and not seeing any improvement, you need to modify your treatment strategy

i'm having pain while walking ...is it really serious?
@PerformanceSportSpine Жыл бұрын
Can't say for certain as we don't know your condition. But if you have this, it can be very painful, but not medically serious. The best thing for walking is establishing a baseline, then gradually progress. strengthening the lateral hip muscles and make sure you pelvis doesn't tilt down (on painful side) when walking

What you’re describing is Trochanteric bursitis not gluteal bursitis which is actually called ischial gluteal bursitis. You may want to clarify that for people.
