I agree. While I do have all the business strike American women quarters to date (I won’t buy the proofs until Dansco comes out with the album), I am not a fan of them at all. Commemorative general circulation coins I am tired of and feel that the novelty has long since worn off. I think that the US should go back to the old Standing Liberty design on quarters, the Mercury design on the dimes, the Walking Liberty design on the half dollars, the shield design for the nickels, the Flying Eagle design on cents, the 1976 liberty pattern design for regular small dollars, and continue the American innovation design for some small dollars, continue making NIFC commemorative half dollars and dollars, and also redesign the American Silver Eagle to look similar to the 1873-1878 trade dollars. Many of these coins would be absolutely beautiful as proof coins and even the business strike clad coins would be attractive. I also think that the US mint should make coins in different denominations again like the old 2 and 3 cent pieces and 20 cent pieces. Also, the US mint should make high face value silver coins like a $100 or $500 silver piece.
