I don't know why these GOM buggies were not more successful, it looks like a nicely designed buggy to me.

I think it is because the brand does not really have a high profile like some of the bigger names. This means that the range of upgrade parts is more limited and in the world of crawling/rock racing, everyone likes to customise their own vehicles. I think that if Gmade had updated the GOM and made an improved version 2, it would have been more popular.

This looks like a really interesting build, thanks for showing it in detail.

Thanks for your comment. It was an interesting build and the buggy turned out to be bigger than I thought it would be. I think it is closer to 1:8 scale than 1:10 scale.

I know the GOM has been around for a while but it is a great looking buggy. It would be nice to get some metal upgrade parts for it.

I have admired the GOM for a long time and there are still really only a few other crawlers like this on the market. I love the scale detailing and I plan to add some more parts to further improve the realism. There are some great CNC parts available for the GOM but they are quite expensive. I will look at what is available in a future video.

I love how everything is detailed , keep up , also make sure u don't scratch it when u use it 🤣🤣🤣 , but that would be intersting to the suspension working outside on a long road with a lot of rocks

Yes, this one deserves some proper off-road testing. The only way to never get scratches is to keep it on the shelf and I don't intend to do that!

Yes, that was always my plan. Sorry it is taking so long. My RC collection is spread between two countries but I hope to make the next video in this series in the coming months.

@@paluxyl.8682 Well, it is a bit embarrassing really to not show the GOM running yet but, like you, I have lots of build and customisation projects. I have the Cross-RC PG4A kit, for example, that has been waiting 2 years to build and the Tamiya XR311 upgrade project with some amazing metal parts waiting a similar amount of time. Plus, I want to restore my vintage 1981 Tamiya Holiday Buggy...

Hello there! I have always liked the GOM buggy and decided to get one earlier this year after thinking about it for quite some time. I appreciate that it has been around for quite a few years but if you want a buggy style vehicle rather than a truck, there really isn't so much choice. I haven't had any problems with mine so far but then I am quite a light user and not a basher. If you checked the first part of my video series, you will have seen that there are 3 variants; the GOM Kit, PLUS Kit and ARTR. The basic kit does use quite a few plastic parts. There are metal upgrades available but these are quite expensive and not always so easy to find. The PLUS kit uses some better components but in general, the level is not as high as some other crawlers. For comparison, take a look at my Cross-RC EMO AT4V crawler. This pick-up truck was a similar price but uses a greater number of metal parts. I have my GOM configured with a shift servo. This shift arrangement can be a weak point in the design. Really it depends upon exactly what sort of crawling you are planning to do. My AT4V also has the ability to remotely lock/unlock the diffs but the GOM doesn't have this ability. If you get the PLUS kit you will need to choose your own tyres but at least that enables you to pick something ideal for rock crawling.

ahhh yess .. Amber looks like a baby in that seat .. i don't know if the car is exactly 1:10 scale, or the buggy in the real life is so big .. hmmm, but if you modify the seat, Amber will still look small with the Buggy Body itself .. maybe the 7" action figure will do the job? ..

I know exactly what you mean and that is rather disappointing as I had hoped she would be a perfect driver for this buggy. She even has the perfect colour matching outfit plus the boots and gloves work for this application. It is generally agreed that the GOM is rather large for the claimed 1:10 scale and is probably nearer to 1:9 or 1:8 scale. I was even thinking to make a little cushion for her to sit on to raise her up a little bit. It wouldn't really be visible so much from the outside and then the belts would fit better. But you are right, a 7 inch figure would probably suit the application much better. Do you have any suggestions for figures?

You can also see Amber in my Cross-RC AT4V customisation video. I tried to do a scale interior for that truck but again, it wasn't the result that I had hoped for.

@@BlackSeaRC hmm i think the action figure from NECA or DC are 7inch .. but almost all of them are superheroes, we need more "natural figures" for the driver .. 😁
@BlackSeaRC
@BlackSeaRC 2 жыл бұрын
@@themozzie You are right, I don't want a superhero type figure but just an average person. The choice of characters like this is much more limited.
