Every time Ben Finegold says "what did Gene Wilder say?" I keep thinking the answer is going to be "GOOD DAY SIR"

On the topic of relative piece value. I would argue that the relative value of knight vs bishop changes based time control and skill level of players. With knights relative value increasing in shorter time controls and at a lower levels. Knights are great for forks....it takes me longer to calculate/do a blunder check to avoid getting into a queen - king fork than making sure a bishop can't skewer my king and queen, so in a bullet game a knight scares me more than a bishop. Likewise as I have gotten better knights have gotten better knight have become less scary. So while at the grandmaster level the player the bishop pair is superior to knights, at 800-1000 level chess I would say the knight is slightly better than the bishop because that level player is more to effectively use the knight than bishop.

Can someone explain the meaning behind Knife F5? Why is it a good move?

if you are white, having a knight on f5 gives you a lot of opportunities to attack on the king's side of the board, which is where black's king usually is since that's the most common way to castle. It attacks g2, which is a very common square to deliver checkmate on, and it also attacks h3, which often has an important defensive pawn on it, so Nf5 often sets up for a winning sacrifice. If the king hasn't castled, a knight on f5 also attacks e7, which is also a common checkmating square. so a knight on f5 is just very, very likely to be a great attacking piece. and what else is a great attacking piece? a knife

There are alot of games where knight F5 is the start of an attack that is so strong that white wins immediatly after it. Like ALOT ALOT.

Also I love bishops because they move faster which means I can blunder them faster 😎
