Enough to eat is really the key. A good friend of mine once said...once you feel hungry its already too late. You need to eat constantly before feeling hungry.

I feel kinda dumb now for never bringing snacks thinking it's all good yet I always seem to hit a bit of a wall around 1.5hrs where I'm noticeably slower from then on. Definitely giving that tip a try.

Yeah I used to think too that a good breakfast would keep me fuelled for a few hours but every time I bring snacks and water it gets much easier, especially in the cold.

I was the same. It feels like a cheat code when you have something and fuel up. But I also didn’t wanna rely on bringing snacks every ride.
@pubplays3682 жыл бұрын
It’s a decent tip. However, a light nutritional breakfast will provide you with better energy (keyword: nutritional. Not garbage like cereal.) vs trying to snack every hour during a ride from the get go. Keep it light and full of nutrients in the morning. Go for a 3 hour ride and then start to snack per the hour after. Otherwise, you can accidentally comatose during a ride and lose even more energy. These are my tips if you’re trying to improve endurance. This helped me build enough stamina to mountain bike 424 miles in one day. Keep at it and good luck lads 👍

I am with you on that one, I also get super hungry and tend to over eat once I am home!

I used to hit a wall 5 miles in and I really couldn’t understand what happened for the longest time. Then a friend mentioned how he snacks every 15-30 mins and it totally blew my mind.

Thanks Gmbn, more fitness related videos would be great! (Like GCN). It might not be cool but the fitter you are the more fun riding is... and sorry people are less likely to buy an ebike! Embrace the challenge of mtb 🤘

You can pack some peanut butter and a few flour tortillas or a few slices of bread. One slice or tortilla with some peanut butter is all you need per the hour for a long ride sesh. You can add a bit of jam for taste but like someone else said. Be careful consuming too much processed sugar during a ride.
@copperpiiiipe2 жыл бұрын
Peanut butter and jam sandwich. Most protein bars are not high in carbs anyway so not much use for fuel. Rice crispy square bars are good and not too expensive.
