Mine busted throughvtiday, but was still hanging on. My lil brother did a fine job of fixingbit for me. Mine ain prettybas yours, but my bro did the best he could with what he had. Gotta replace the bushing, which I say is what caused this whole thing. You did good on this.

I currently own a 01 Ls Chevy Blazer.My driver side door hinge pins/bushings need changing.When I close my driver door..I just don`t slam the door shut.I pick up the door so it lines up correctly.Most of these jamb damage`s have to be rusted on the back side.

My driver side was like this too, except it was still sitting in the body. It hadn't yet completely came off. I was thinking of just welding it back in, but I might actually need to do something similar to you so I can get it done right.

Good vid,informative. Am going out to garage to do same repair. Driver door latch never had problem until it failed , catastrophically !! I have a snap on wire machine using gas shielding that is crap. Neighbor has a harbor freight that welds great with gas. Snap on doesn't back up their welders and said to buy new one and ohah rub salt in your a...... . What machine do you use ? Thanks

my door striker is bent in from the pillar, that door sag screwed it up and how much would it be? in a range cause I have to get the door hinges fixed as well, trying to get 2 birds with 1 stone, if you're local to Staten Island NY I can drive to you

Where can I get this done at because they charging $3,000 at a body shop and they need to cut both sides of the door and put in a whole new jam there should be a recall on this

@freddie Mullins...I just left a paint & body shop. They told me the same thing. They said "because of liability issues they won't weld a plate on for the stricker." Then he referred me to an independent auto repair shop. Go figure.

Awesome job with the video, but please allow me to clarify, as I am not referring to replacement of the striker plate itself, as shown in the video, but rather, requesting a video, of the proper procedure for removal and replacement of the door latch assembly itself, from within the door - which latches onto the door striker plate / anchor assembly, in order to keep the door securely closed. I've got my door all opened up and the latch disconnected from all the armatures, but can't seem to get the danged thing out of the door itself, for replacement, and am hoping not to have to cut out a section of the inner door casing, in order to be able to facilitate this. So any other videos that you may be able to do in that respect, would be gratefully appreciated, as so far, I've not been able to locate any, which show the proper procedure, in its entirety - anywhere.

I've seen cheaper methods, but nothing that looked this good. I've been thinking about sawzalling out that part at a junk yard, and scabbing it on top. I don't think the extra thickness will hurt anything - I've seen people do it with 1/8" sheet on top too. Nothing that looks this good though - I just watched outright sheetmetal artistry. Alvarez turned shit into shinola!

+Alvarez Metal Works my grand fathers has a tiny tear and is barely bent . if I put new door pins and pull it straight will it fix it ?

@@bobbygreenhaw4790 no over time that crack is a weak point and will further damage. Could try to pull it out straight grind and weld the. Smooth it and paint would probably fix the crack.
