The problem is this economy. People don’t make enough money . Everything has double or triple in price . How is anyone supposed to afford a $40k , small , basic equipped truck ? Basic , new compact trucks used to go for $29k , just 5 years ago .
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. $29k for a compact truck is much more reasonable.

5:29 - For my money, the Yukon Denali is the better buy than the Escalade. It's not the "luxury" brand, but it doesn't compromise anything substantial to the Escalade. And it looks better, to me.
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
Exactly. You get essentially the same content as in the Escalade for a bit of a lower price. Kinda like the 1999 Denali and the 1999 Escalade. Basically the same truck 😂

You should Go to the hyundai dealer ship next
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
The Ford dealership is probably next.

Do they have 5 to 10k off on the trucks with rebates and incentives?
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
I’m not certain.

@@MotorMaster_Stunticon I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't since they are 24' models.

And back in the day people thought it was insane to pay 30k for a truck
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
A 30k 1/2 ton truck would be nice these days.

Anecdotally speaking, our dealership isn't struggling to move these Sierras off the lot. Canyons attract a lot of buyers, but they often make the jump up to the Sierra because the prices aren't too far apart. Canyons go to those who want a slightly better fuel economy, a smaller pickup, and/or the slightly lower payment.

Good for you guys wherever you live. It’s a different story in my part of Florida.

@MotorMaster_Stunticon Midwest. At the top-selling GMC store in the region. So...a bit of an outlier. That's why I say anecdotally.

I always wanted a first generation gmc canyon

Yeah I like the first generation.

They can't ask that for those canyon trucks

GM said they were sticking with the V8. It is a shame about the midsized Canyon not having a V6. That turbo engine will work hard and you have to maintain the turbos. It should have a V6. I am not shocked at the price of the suv's especially in Denali trim. This is why I do not understand Chevrolet is selling the High Country trim level and GMC has Denali. Then you have Cadillac with Escalade. This is why Pontiac and Oldsmobile existed. GMC is in that spot where Oldsmobile and Pontiac were. There needs to be some cars at that spot Buick and GMC occupy.
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
Agreed. That turbo 4 is a high stressed engine. It has to work harder for a relatively large vehicle. And the turbocharging significantly sacrifices some reliability. I’ll take a naturally aspirated V6 over a turbo 4 and a V8 over a twin turbo V6 anyway.

@@MotorMaster_Stunticon I agree with you totally. The Jeep Grand Wagoneer is over priced. The situation with Stellantis is not helping the situation.

At this time, most (if not all) cars are overpriced. Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Nissan etc… it doesn’t matter.
@MotorMaster_StunticonАй бұрын
You’re totally correct. The prices in general are too much.
