@@joshuabuell2097 His positioning is just what? It's strange that young people fail at typing full sentences, these days.
@ritishify22 күн бұрын
@@OriginalPuro Not only that. Lately, I find that everyone's just too vague on these comments. If you think about it, to actually express an idea in a way that it will be fully understood, you need to give a longer explanation than just a sentence, like I'm doing now. (not necessarily I guess, but my point is that it's usually better) I guess the "issue" is that it's mostly young people making those one-sentence comments, often just to get some attention, which is sad and strange, indeed, and they can't be bothered to read a comment that has more than 3 lines. I have to admit that I was getting used to it myself but, since I realized, I'm unapologetically writing these long comments so that people will get used to it. I think we often also assume that the way we say some things are clear enough but the truth is that you can interpret it differently depending on things like your understanding of the language or your vocabulary, even if you're a native speaker. My conclusion is that it is what it is, because I don't see the whole world properly regulating access to the internet for children or something like that, at least when it comes to participating by way of making comments and such. On that aspect, I commend Australia for their new law denying access to social media for children under 16 y.o. I never thought I would see it happening. Hopefully it will be an example or at least a very good opportunity for the rest of the world to learn what the benefit could be. Seeing things like that brings my faith in humanity back, haha. This age of information and technology has only just begun, after all. Just a learning stage. It's not easy to get out of your way to point out things like that and try to correct others' behavior, so I'm glad to see you do it, because it's the truth and few people seem ready to accept it on many subjects, or at least it looks like that on the internet, but as I said it could also be mostly children, and adults unknowingly agreeing with children, silly things of that nature. I'm sure things will get better, though. These comments might take a couple minutes to read but you spend even more time trying to decipher the meaning of some of those shorter comments.

In top level competitive games, regardless of game type. The mental edge is real. Good players can still perform at their peak, but it takes SO MUCH MORE energy to do so. You are never at ease, it leads to mental fatigue / blunder much quicker than usual. Going against the GOAT, knowing the end game is hugely in MC’s favor would amplify this effect. MC & Garry both mentioned this edge, opponents would simplify and draw favorable positions. Opponents would be visually stressed when in obviously advantaged position. Hikaru said ad much playing against MC, whereas playing in blitz he does not feel this stress because he knows he’s level with, if not better than Mc. Props to Fabi for a great game though.

You see the hesitation between Kf7 and Kf6 on the last move? That was his last chance to save. He should have played Kf7 to leave the f6 square vacant for the queen so he could play Qf6+ after Re8. @ksham.9 ай бұрын
Doesn't matter what he does. All valid moves leads to the Black Queen being lost. There's only ONE safe square for the Black Queen (a5), but then White promotes with d8=Q+. The promotion comes with check is the biggest problem. That means that the Black Queen would have to capture it, then White captures it back with the Rook, which means Black is down a Rook and the last White Pawn will promote next move and there's nothing Black can do about it.

No matter where Fabi moved his queen, he would lose it. Either by being taken immediately, or by Magnus promoting to a queen, forking Fabi's king and queen. So at best, Fabi is down a rook, plus Magnus has another pawn ready to promote.

@@geachyman classy reply. Just so you know, many will appreciate this, but those appreciating aren't typically visible in the comments sections...

Poor commentators. Carlsen's plan had been obvious for quite a while. Yet they kept fearing that he might lose...

Three moments in Magnus's career best illustrate his brillance to me. The first two were his youthful draw with Kasparov and playing multiple games at once with his back turned on 60 Minutes. This is the third. Here you have THREE commentators--and none keeps up with him in real time. In fact, they predict that "Magnus is about to get checkmated."

they are not wrong. At 13.22 Fabi at QC6+ would have removed the advanced pawn and won eventually but Fabi moved the rook instead.
