Pomoting a new queen is the brute force method, under-promoting a new bishop is nicer, but Ra1 is even more economical in material, I prefer Ra1.
@51monw6 күн бұрын
Promoting to Queen or Bishop mates, promoting to Knight loses, so promote to a rook and play more chess, and black wins by mopping up the King side pawns with the rooks and white has no counterplay at all. Stockfish gradually increases its evaluation of black's position, as it got 30odd ply deep in the tree it has seen all the king side pawns falling but there probably isn't anything better than Qa8+ Bf8 Qe8 where at least the queen ties up the King and Bishop.

LOL, amazing... I'm torn, resurrecting your Queen would be epic, but winning with no Pawn promotion would be more satisfying, and properly justify the sacrifice in the first place due to the fact that under his philosophy "It's not about material, but about position." If the myth has some truth, I believe Rook to a1 would be more satisfying to Tal as well, since winning without the need for a Queen would've been correct the night before and the day after.

"to take is a mistake" is a mistake, an obvious mistake, or at least not very well explained. It's obvious that in some positions taking is the best move, even if you don't win material, you could improve your position. Remember your opponent doesn't play perfectly. Loved the video though 👏
@pemrograman-cepat33936 күн бұрын
I implement your method, it really boosts my elo. After reaching 1700+, suddenly it becomes harder to win. But after I check the accuracy, the opponent accuracy was 96-99% whereas mine was around 84-92% average. Omg, could it be real or cheating?
