This look into Harley Quin and her relationship with the Joker is amazing. Disturbing yes, but these kinds of relationships always are. My mother was in a heavily abusive relationship with my father. Much of what he did was the result of heavy drug and alcohol abuse but it didn't stop her from reacting on her survival instinct to protect her children and herself from further harm. However, much like Quin, she was in denial about it for years. It took me saying as a small child "Mommy, maybe you should be with someone who's nicer to you.". She told me that was the wake up call where she realized her kids were being affected by this, not just her. People who haven't lived it, or lived around it don't understand what it's like. So thank you for making this video.

It's amazing how children can get to the heart of a problem more easily than adults. Adults overcomplicate things so much that they often can't see the forest for the trees. Children can ignore the trees and see the heart of the forest. Attack of the Clones made a notable statement about this by having a youngling nail the source of Obi-Wan's inability to find Kamino when no adult Jedi could. "Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is."

It's weird how much I used to relate to Harley. Instead of physical violence, I was emotionally and mentally abused and I didn't have anybody. I had myself and I use my isolation to help me get away. Although this happened when I was a kid, I was in this similar relationship with my ex. He didn't throw out of a window or anything like that but he would ignore me and put his games and friends before me and I wasn't happy. When I finally broke up with him, he told me that I would be nothing without him. And now I'm in a new relationship with someone who puts me before himself sometimes, even though I tell him not to. And I'm happier than I've ever been. In my experience, sometimes relying on yourself is the only way to go

@Caul sometimes it's not always as easy as it sounds. When I was with my ex, he would never play games I liked. It was always what he liked to play. I would call him after a long day of work and say hello and he would be rude and not listen to me and ask me to hang up. Then I hear his friends laughing in the background. It happened everytime. When we were at his house and finally got some time to play together or spendtime, he would invite his friends over and would ignore me the whole time. I would go home and the next day work up the courage to tell him how I feel and things need to change or I'm leaving. He would cry and yell at me, telling me how he was the one for me, how he was broken without me and how he would change. He would write me a sorry card after each time and bring me chocolates and flowers. I felt guilty on my part and sorry for him so I believed him, but change never happened. I always made an effort on my part but he never cared. It wasn't until I finally talked to my best friend about it and she helped me break up with him and gain my sense of self back.

Rebekah DeVore I just read your comment my ex was exactly like that to me a compulsive gamer and abuser and even went as far to let one of his friends is insulting terms I didn't know the meaning of like "poor lil tink tink" now he has a new girl and tells them lies makes me out to be crazy and obsessive when he's the one who's those things

My ex wanted to know everything about me. I thought wow no one ever cared to know how I tick before. He even got me to admit my darkest secrets, not that dark. He once told me, WARNING, if you ever tell anyone that I abuse you I will tell your family all your secrets and trust me they will never believe you. He got to my family before I did, they treated me like I was a beast. I was trapped now because to leave him my family already believed what he said. No support. He cut my money, or made it so that I relied on him. When I broke up with him the real crap began. It was bad enough, but now he’s setting me up to appear criminal and telling my children I don’t love them and I’m a drunk and slut…more and more. He annihilated my entire world. Then he decided to stalk me for seven years, and no matter where I moved what state I jump, too he was always there, haunting me. I finally got away and don’t even ask what craziness it was to accomplish but it’s done. These people are extreme and will hurt you.

As a man that was involved in an emotionally and always on the verge of physically abusive relationship I can tell you, that no matter what, no matter what your gender, you can get help and escape. I met her, we hit it off and got together. Then slowly it became I was never any good for anyone, why should I try to find anyone else to share my life, platonic friendship or romantic relationship, when I have her. Watching a show, if she thought the female characters were too hot I might leave her for them (no idea how, but abusive people are never logical.) She would break stuff, sometimes right next to my ear when I wasn't paying attention. If I showed a mind of my own, she told me she'd break my head open with a heavy cast iron pan one of these days and then I would get arrested because the police always blame the man in these situations. But I was lucky to have her because no one would ever want me but her. It took a combination of an epiphany while hearing a song, I will never be able to repay the guys at Repo: The Genetic Opera for Night Surgeon, along with threats of violence from me to back her down, getting friends and family helping me get out of the situation, even some people I would normally call my enemies helped me, and moving out of state for a few months so that she would get tired of it and move onto an easier target. Just a pure nightmare so again, if you are in this situation, do not allow yourself to be bulldozed. GET HELP!

I was in a "bad" relationship (perhaps not as bad as Harley's but still some times it was pretty bad). It took me a long time to get out and finally leave for good. I remember thinking to myself "This relationship is giving me anxiety. He makes me feel guilty for everything and I feel like I sometimes have to walk on eggshells around him. He's lying, making me cry and I'm not happy" As soon as I finished that though the first thing that popped in to my mind was this: "I don't want to be happy, I want to be with him" I was so disturbed by my own though that a short time after I ended it for good. I guess I can see a bit of myself in Harley. I think that when the heart is hungry we eat lies and accept any kind of love, even if we only get a minimal amount back. I loved the video! ❤

I walked away from my Joker after 1 year of planning and 1 year of trying to gain the courage to leave. He made sure that I was completely isolated and dependent on him. When I left I had 50 dollars because that was all I was able to hide from him as he took any money I got as a gift ... I didn't have a drivers license and I didn't have a job. I could go on but I think you got the picture. It's been almost 15 years since the divorce and I'm still dealing with overcoming the damage. If you see yourself in what I had gone through, please first know .... you are precious and wonderful and deserving of real love....not mental manipulation disguised as love. Get out....now...or start planning it if you can't just leave. That goes for guys too...there are as many cases of men being abused as women.... they just don't report it because of the stigma of not being the strong head of the house. Get out! Find love.....and learn to love and accept yourself.

I lost all of the friends that were on his "approved list" of people that I could be friends with. I've gotten back in touch with a couple childhood friends and made several really good friends since being on my own. it is so good of you to help your mom sort things out....and it's so good that she feels she can count on you.... however. it does almost reverse your roles and it doesn't leave much room for you to just have been a kid. I mean yeah in the new comic series she only fights him for self defense too.

I love this. People always think Harley is just a female Deadpool these days, but she's so much more. I can relate to Harley so much because of her reliance on the Joker. She stays with him because she thinks she has nowhere else to go, and because deep down she really wants to believe he cares about her despite everything he does to her showing the opposite. Seeing her overcome her demons really touched me in a way that entertainment rarely does. By that point I had already overcome my own demons, but had I read this before doing so I think it definitely would have helped me even more.
@AyseeMD
@AyseeMD 8 жыл бұрын
Oh no, in the comics she's basically female Deadpool with less fourth wall breaking, mainly because her abusive situation with the Joker was what made her interesting. While overcoming that is a good arc, it should really be saved for elseworld, and ending TV series or movies. Because we all know that Harley is not gonna die anytime soon, so getting rid of what makes her interesting is like having Spider-man retire as a family man without ending his Spider-man line and replacing him with another guy. It'd only be good for things that end.
@wishbone346
@wishbone346 8 жыл бұрын
Dragon Phantom of DEATH! I humbly disagree. I've been a Harley fan since Batman: The Animated Series, I've read probably 3/4 of the comics she's been involved in, and honestly I've always found her interesting even without the Joker. You can go many places with her without needing to focus on her relationship with Joker. For example, her self-esteem issues are not just going to go away. You can still play with her insecurities with who she is and where her life is headed. You can still show that she's having a hard time coping with the fact that she wants to be more than a villain but everyone sees her as one no matter what she does. Hell, you can even play with the idea of people still seeing her as nothing but Joker's sidekick even after she went through this arc. Overall I think you're oversimplifying her as a character by saying that the Joker is all that made her interesting. That's like saying all that makes the Robins interesting is Batman.
@AyseeMD
@AyseeMD 8 жыл бұрын
wishbone346 Except, they do, the whole purpose of her leaving the Joker is getting past those problems, The Joker caused those problems, so getting rid of them gets rid of those privlems. And that's impossible, since the only way she can't be a villian or anti-hero is to be certifiably sane, and she's been doing fine on her stand alone titles. And people wouldn't have a choice but except she's not Joker's sidekick, she's been apart of the Suicide Squad and Ivy that barely anyone in the DC New 52 would recognize her as Joker's sidekick by now, all possible character arcs for her are through, done, she's stuck in this ending that leads nowhere. Well, that's also true, the Robins aren't interesting without Batman, but they're still able to be successful by themselves, as long as Batman is still involved, cutting all of Harley's ties with the Joker makes her lose that main focus.
@DrewLSsix
@DrewLSsix 8 жыл бұрын
+Dragon Phantom of DEATH! You are mistaken thinking that one must be mentally ill to be a villain. Or an anti villain or a hero or anti hero, the Joker him self isn't typically insane either so what makes you think that Harley overcoming an unhealthy relationship would end her criminal career?
@AyseeMD
@AyseeMD 8 жыл бұрын
DrewLSsix When did I say any of this? I said that she's not interesting without Joker, without him what we liked about her (her main struggle with her relationship) is now gone. And we're left with Deadpool, only less funny, cause every fourth wall break is cringey cause she was never known for doing that. (Effectively ruining Deadpool's best humor) So, she has nothing good to fall back on, no obstacle, no real character arcs. And that'd be fine, if this wasn't a coming up story. Which requires constant growth, examples each and every Ex Robin, Wally West before disappearing, and the Teen Titans.

You guys just ROCK!!! I'm a retired teacher who taught young adults and there were several over the years that suffered from abusive relationships. Most kept me as only the teacher, when I tried to talk to them and left the only option for me to help being reporting it to the administration and talked to fellow classmates about helping anyone who might be going through it. While I never singled out the individual who was having problems they were able to make friends with people who got them help. Those that I was able to get help for though counseling, and in some cases, the campus police resources, ended up getting out of those relationships resulting in being happier, grades improved, and developed close friendships with other students. The worst part is that domestic violence is more commonly seen as against females, but unfortunately this is a non-gender specific problem. Males are even more reluctant to get help as society dictates that males are somehow immune or should be able to handle it. Bottomline is that male or female, you should NEVER be with someone who physically, mentally, or emotionally abuses you!!! No matter how strong you are, remember that even concrete breaks when it's hit enough. It is never a weakness to ask for help!!! Look, I'm a just a guy that knows nothing about phycology, but I do know how to care. With all the troll comments KZbin is famous for, I know that almost all those trolls behind the keyboards care as much as I do, if you know anyone going through this please use your talents at cutting people to the core to get these people help. Sorry for the long comment. Just seen too many wonderful people go through hell and this video was so well done that it brought all those memories back to the surface.

+rosie x, (replying this here too, since you're going out of your way) Ivy loves Harley, especially in the New 52, and in the original comics, she took a bullet for her (from Joker's gun), she also nursed her back to health after the Joker strapped her to a ROCKET and shot her away. Poison Ivy, like Harley is a victim of abuse, and much of her actions that are considered to be verbally abusive, come from a place of fear for Harley and just an utter disbelief that she keeps returning to this relationship. In almost every incarnation, as their relationship develops, and Ivy begins to trust and care for Harley more as a person than just a fellow victim of abuse, but as Harleen Quinzel, she dials back on the verbal abuse. And honestly, if you observe any relationship between friends, as Ivy and Harley were for a long time, they tease each other, abuse is typically defined as actions that inspire fear-- Harley isn't afraid of Ivy. And the only time Ivy was ever violent with her was while she was undergoing massive, physical transmogrification, when she was becoming physically part plant. Harley often treats Ivy in a similar fashion, she even goes so far as to purposefully antagonize her in the spinoff comic book series based on the original animation, calling her an assortment of names, even hitting her with a towel on the butt-- Harley isn't afraid of Ivy, there's a real, mutual affection that develops over the course of years that without a profound knowledge of the access of comic book canon, you really shouldn't make flippant comments about it.

Being in an emotional abusive relationship, he laughed at me, he picked on me, he forced me to kiss him and would get mad at me whenever I decided I didn't want to go out. Though I got out of the situation quickly somehow, I still count it as abusive because even though I never got a mark on my body, alot of his words left one in my head. Harley growing as a character and as a person is the symbol of what alot of people go through or want to succeed in friendships and relationships. We want to be that confident person Harley has become and face our demons in a way we can truly look in the mirror and feel whole as ourselves. How long that takes is well, hard to tell. But whoever is reading this. You CAN get out. You WILL get out. I know you will.

I personally think that the Joker from Suicide Squad is different from the abusive Joker we usually see. So, think about it like this: You know how comics always have different dimensions? You can go on the Marvel or DC wikis, spend an hour trying to figure out the dimensions and who is in each one, and you might still not get it. Some people say certain movies take place in certain dimensions, blah blah blah. Anyways, as an example, some are still trying to figure out what dimension the Deadpool movie is in. (Most people say it's the Wolverine's dimension) But anyway, in the original Deadpool story, Wade was with Vanessa for a little bit, but they broke up and never got together again. he never went through all of the events of the movie to save her. So, Deadpool is in a different dimension. Similar to this, I've never heard about the Joker doing several operations to locate Harley, figure out how to get her back, likely fighting through Midway City just to get a helicopter to get her. Sounds like a lot of work for one of his many toys (See what I did there? "You Don't Own Me?" Eh! Eh!)

Actually its in that movie. My mom began watching it over and over again as each time she realized more and more how dad was the joker (abusive, mainipulative, user) some examples, pushing her into the acid is in the movie as he almost leaves her for dead. Well he did not push her but you see her resisting and he minuplulates her into it where she does it only for him. And he walks off to leave her for dead, only "saving her" as another manipulating trick to use her as much as he can. Him laughing in a circle of knives with baby boy and girl clothes there (a hint about her daughter lucy) She is in the club dancing mist likey to fund tge jokers needs. He then sets her up to fall into the traps of his games like getting the guy to hit on her, her hit back, just so he can have the fun of being jealous to justify shoting him in the club. She joined suicide squad to get away from that abuse, just to be used by the government, which then the joker uses to "save her" mainipluating her back into his life as a hero

I agree with 95% of this, but Poison Ivy is also Harley's abuser. In past comics it's been shown that Ivy does all of the same things that Joker does to her, just to a lesser degree. I saw Suicide Squad recently and they grossly romanticize their relationship. They made Joker seem loving and like he cares for her, and at the end of the movie he even comes back to break her out of jail. Which he would never actually do. I hope for the day that people stop romanticizing these kinds of toxic relationships.

sorry but gotta shine light on the suicide squad movie, I really appreciate the new dynamic between the couple given. people are complaining scenes were cut but it was to demonstrate the couple as less one sidedly abusive (im trying to put it a way that makes sense). most the movie the joker is a support to harley and almost encourages her individual strength and power. the movie showed harley could function by herself though the joker still mattered to her, the fact that she was comforted by the fact the joker could "rescue her" throughout the movie and the fact she chose to go into the acid vat were reasons i really enjoyed the movie.

Yeah... I tried being someones "poison Ivy" more than once. But she was Always returning to that psycho. Last time it happened and she had to run, I helped her again. Was going on with all we got. We had a plan. We'd get him locked Up and I'd be a witness at the trial. But due to her having spent most of her life in psycopathic relationships, one day she just screwed me over and just disappeared.... She didn't show up in court either, so they had to let him out. .. I found out later that she was back with him again. Why I found out was because he called me because they had a fight and she run away again and he wanted to know if she'd come to me, but she hadn't. That was like half a year ago. Now I've heard she's a drug addict, wanted by police for some reason but she's moved to another town. She don't wanna have any contact with me but I know most stuff cuz of the agreement we had with the police, since I was the only person they trusted having her stay at. Anyways .. I've got a new saying in life. That you can only save those who actually wanna be saved. You can't save someone who won't accept being saved. ... She's reduced to a shadow and it's sad.

One of the main problems of the character of Harley Quinn is that she has no beginning without the Joker, she is a character that is so intensely linked to the joker that she loses something when she's not somewhat linked with the joker. So basically what I'm trying to say is, is there a happy ending for Harley? Well there probably never will be, there's no life to go back to before the Joker, none that she would want to anyway, and just running away from the joker isn't gonna fix anything. Staying with the joker is also bad because the cycle will just continue. The only way her character can have a happy ending is WITH the joker, but a changed joker, one that she managed to reform. But unfortunately the joker will never change, so unfortunately in a way, her popularity is her own downfall because now that she's a more important character and we want to see her achieve her aspirations, her aspirations are forever unattainable.

+Angela Cooper Actually even though Harley was initially only connected to the Joker, as years have gone by and her popularity had increased she has been linked with other characters. Harley Quinn changes the way she acts and her whole personality in general on the thing or person shes obsessing on. Whilst she is obsessed with the Joker she finds herself deep within the crime life because she's trying to be like him so that he will love her as well as do things that she believes will make him happy or impress him. But. If you look at how she acts after finding Power Girl with amnesia she finds herself becoming a superhero and stopping bad guys. Harley is someone who has to obsess over an object or person so that she can create herself. So really, even without the Joker, Harley is such a confusing and interesting character with so many things still left to find out about her that even whilst she's not connected to the Joker or if the Joker eventually dies off. Harely will still, from what I believe, be just as popular and well known like she is now.

Excellent breakdown of their abusive dynamic. As a psychology student, it's frustrating for me to hear people say staying with an abusive person is "stupid," which is a gross oversimplification. Also because I've been in an abusive relationship myself. It's a very complex problem.

As a little girl growing up in an abusive home that tormented not only myself but also my mother. I used to watch Batman the animated series and the first that I saw HARLEY something clicked for me and there was finally a character I could relate to as an abused 12 year old girl. I have read some of the Harley comics where she has broken up with the Joker and those were a source of strength for me as a surviver of multiple types of abuse. I really thought that you did a great job with this video. I also cried and thought it was inspirational. I agree that you do have a calming voice. I thought that you did a good job of breaking down something as complicated as the cycle of abuse even though there is much more that happens in the dynamics of an abusive relationship. I also think you did a very accurate job of explaining Harley. Not only that but you talked about helping people going through this situation and added links for people to get help. That was especially impressive to me because in my opinion your video raised awareness about domestic violence and had links to sites people could look up for more help and added information. Thank you for making this video. I think that you really did it justice.

She is, in a strange sort of way. By Poison Ivy. It's a VERY strange relationship, but I find the dynamic interesting. On the one hand, you have the Joker pulling on her (who is highly abusive and manipulative) and on the other, Ivy (who is supportive and has concern... which is odd because I always saw Ivy as not caring about anyone). Hopefully we'll see more of the dynamics in the Harley movie (I know they have plans, but seriously, who didn't see a Harley movie coming?)

Even if you just hear your neighbors fighting and you feel like someone might be in danger, do something. Call the police. You could be saving a life. They're not just cheesy words you hear in commercials. You really could save someone from ending up like my friend. You can be the hero they need to save them just by simply calling 911 or supporting them to leave their partner.

+Quisiio0303456 I can see where you're coming from, but I must respectfully disagree. Before I explain why, please know that I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong and that I'm not attacking you. Also, beware of spoilers. I've only read up to issue 13 in the new 52, and I've noticed something. First, she has a PhD, which means that she's not an idiot. My theory is that she's bored and looking for a challenge. The incident that leads me to believe this is what happens when she moves to Coney Island: she's being hunted by hitmen and bounty hunters. She's trying to figure it out and asks Ivy for help. After a while, they find an encrypted folder on Harley's computer and Harley has no idea where it came from. One night, Ivy notices Harley sleep walking and follows her. Ivy watches a sleeping Harley log on to her computer, access the encrypted folder and RAISE the bounty. Yes, Harley is the one behind her own bounty. This seems ridiculous, but there are people who do stuff like chores in their sleep. When you sleep, your subconscious takes over. So, if you accept these actions as anything other than pure goofiness, she's clearly a high functioning individual if she can perform complex tasks in her sleep. Furthermore, even if it subconscious, she feels that her current life of apartment managing, counseling, and roller derby is not fulfilling her desire for a challenge, so she created a catalyst to hopefully fill that need. This is not unprecedented, as this desire for a challenge is what drove her to approach the Joker in the first place. So, in this context, it seems to appear that when she ends an adventure, she basically thinks "that was fun. What's next?"

flipnotefan fan [Trคƿƿ૯ძ ᔕ૦υl] Oh, she was definitely an abuse victim before the Suicide Squad. She displays very typical behavior of an abuse victim, namely being very submissive towards the Joker, always trying to please him, telling herself she deserves to be beaten every time because she's done something to piss the Joker off, and she always runs back to him afterwards because she seeks the passion they had in the beginning, plus, the fear of what the Joker might do to her If she tries to leave. If you watch Batman: The Animated Series, you'll see what I mean.

+Sephter Malay I think Suicide Squad laid some groundwork to delve into Harley/Joker's true dynamic but didn't want to go fully into it with what was already a very cluttered film. The big example that comes to mind is that, despite the fact that Joker twice attempts to rescue her, he did leave her underwater basically to die or be captured in a damaged car while he saved his own skin. Self preservation came first to him and he only went to rescue him when it was safe enough to do so. I believe that they'll finally tackle the real issues in Harley's solo flick.

Well to be fair there have been different versions of the character and their relationships. I think the film wanted to test out new route of what their relationship could be. In the comics you had Joker and Harley break up, in the Arkem games you had Joker die and Harley taking over the gang. And Harley got her first moment on the big screen. They probably want to introduce something a bit different in which Harley still dependent on Joker and Joker can still be manipulative but Harley could still make her own choices with or without Joker. Realize DC goes off of different universes so there might be one where Harley does stay in relationship with Joker, but still finds a way to be her own person. Of course in order for that to work Joker would have to have a different view of her, and maybe because in the movie she fell into the chemicals to prove her love. He could've seen her as a partner in crime if not close to an equal.
@shortboss101
@shortboss101 8 жыл бұрын
Yea, the movie did do that but I can only think they might had done that because some abusive relationships you have people that do "love" each other. But they do not know what is "Love" really is you know and they think that abusing someone is part of love. I think from what I have seen in real life there are all types of abusive when it comes to love with the whole denial. I know from my own life with an ex and you think that person loves you and they really don't. And it's odd because my ex once told me I do have feelings for you, but I feel abuse is part of love. Even though I left and it never got so bad the truth is it was hard, i was scared, and you think they love you still because you love them. I am glad I left and learned better for my life. I think abusive relationships are all not the same. My friend was in one and it was worst than me.

It kind of reminds me of my parents. My dad has BPD, and when he got mad, he would throw things, and break things. He would make comments about every little thing my mom did "wrong" in his eyes. The house was never clean enough for him. She eventually got the courage to leave him, after cheating on her for so long. Last summer I was his new scapegoat. He pushed me over the edge and I attempted suicide. I felt worthless. "Maybe I did deserve it, maybe I just don't deserve happiness." Things like that ran through my head constantly. I don't handle abuse well, especially someone who I had loved so much for years. It cut deep. My mom had warned me that he was manipulative, although I hadn't seen it until that moment that I saw his manipulation at play. Recently, my therapist told him about my suicide attempt. My dad has been extra nice to me, like that will change the fact that I no longer have a self esteem or can't trust people.

I met a girl recently that reminds me a lot of Harley; she is really sweet, beautiful and appears to be upbeat but she told me she had already tried committing suicide a few times. I don't mean this in a bad way, but she is pretty naive; for me that's a good thing, that's why I like being around her, because she makes me see the world the way I did when I was a child. Others have abused this however and hurt her, exposed her to harmful things like drugs. I really want to help her; some people are just meant to be followers but that doesn't make them any less valuable or give anyone the right to abuse their trust and loyalty. I hope one day she trusts me so I can lead her down the right path...

Like in the killing joke animation and comic. And Gotham when referencing the red hood. I know he makes up different back stories to get sympathy and make people feel bad for him. I just thought that even with his multipal back grounds and back stories this one was widely accepted by the comic community. And that the new information about there possible being 3 jokers have surfaced. Making more theories to pop up.

I am a domestic violence abuse survivor. This is so spot on, and the reason it took me so long to leave. Thanks for doing this and spreading the word. I still have the scars but I am finally starting to feel like myself again. There is hope.

I saw the title of this video and had to watch it... I was not disappointed. This video alone was enough for me to subscribe to your channel. My sister fought through the specter of abuse when she was in her late teens and early twenties. It took her years to get out of it, and this video is so accurate as to what it was like watching this relationship... Trying to help her out of it... She eventually did move passed it, and has a great husband now who treats her well.

Love this exploration of Harley Quinn's relationship with Mistah J! So tragic, and too real. When people say "You could stay with friends" you really can't, because either 1) your abuser convinces your friends you're unstable or even crazy and alienates them from you - isolating you, or 2) your friends are afraid to get involved because your abuser will stalk you, show up at their place and cause trouble, make their lives hell, too. Sometimes the abuser will make outright threats to your friends, so they won't even tell you why they can't help, or why they're dropping you as a friend - then you feel worthless as a person, and even more vulnerable to your abuser's self-esteem shredding tactics.

+rosie x, Ivy loves Harley, especially in the New 52, and in the original comics, she took a bullet for her (from Joker's gun), she also nursed her back to health after the Joker strapped her to a ROCKET and shot her away.

Why people need to ship 2 charathers because they are close, I mean what was wrong seeing Ivy and HQ having a sister like relationship, why they need to be gay lover.

I love this so much. I love Harley Quinn because of how strong she is. I mean I know she has extreme Stockholm Syndrome and her and the Joker are one of the many " relationship goals" but she's so beautiful and amazing. I'm honestly really glad she's dating Ivy now. At least Ivy isn't like Joker is.

+Maddi Yando I don't really see how him ( or her) saying " it's saddening to know DC is poisoned with homosexuality" is a joke. The " poisoned" part was a good pun, but there really isn't anything wrong with same sex relationships. Homosexuality isn't a poison.

This is why I love Harley so much. It isn't because she's "so hot and edgy in Suicide Squad", it's because I myself have been in multiple abusive relationships already in my life (I'm only a junior in high school) and her story gives me hope that someday I can become myself again, and that I'll find someone who treats me right and loves me for who I am. I love Harley just as much for her personality as I love her for the message she brings

Gnoggin in my opinion this is your best theory yet your video quality is rising so fast and making a theory about a real issue and talking about it in a serious way while successfully putting in a few jokes "in your style" this is great only because of that theory i think that you deserve more subscribers then most of the youtubers out there i personally think that you have made your best decision by deciding to move on and experiment with new formats instead of making easy to make top 10s i was a long follower of your channel and i've watch you (as a youtuber ) growing up and the fact that you are now making videos about problems with our society in a serious way is mind blowing to me i think that you have finally found your own style although if you dont feel that way try out new formats because so far you have made so many right decision regarding your youtube career p.s. sorry for the long comment but i had to give you at least a compliment for this awesome video

actually i find he doesnt manipulate him because the thing is i dont think you can compare a usual abusive couple to a villian couple and this annoys me.Harley is a VILLIAN and so is Joker.you can not expect a villian to have a normal relationship i am not excusing her but honestly now the " comic nerd" who only read suicide squad fight on "still better than jarley" its so stupid...

Daniel Aldrete Dc says shes still a villian,she was in the suicide squad and thats when she became an anti hero and then went back to being a villian.as for the society thing,wow super mature i actually know a character and did my research on her so society now hates me because i actually know her backstory and read her comics.

I just showed this video to my daughter. She’s 8 and loves Harley! Her middle name is Harlow so I’ve always called her Harley. Anyway, I’m a survivor of domestic abuse and she witnessed it. By the hands of her father... Were both free and have been for 5 years and this whole video was done beautifully! Thank you for this moment! I didn’t know it would get THAT deep but I’m glad it did... she liked the video as well and I think she loves Harley THAT MUCH MORE
