3:30 Addendum: Many birds where males are more noticable than the females, in addition to winning out at female mate selection, also have designated roles for breeding. The male will search for food while the female will stay with the nest, which caused females to become "boring" colours for the purpose of camouflage, since egg-layers aren't capable of fleeing with their young/eggs. Birds that share tasks in the same way, with both parents staying with the nest for large amounts of time, *tend* towards less noticably coloured males. I think there's even some kind of parrot where the male stays with the nest for whatever reason, and the colouring is reversed.

Actually narwhals do not use their horn for fighting. Its actually a tooth, and is filled with nerves and blood vessels just like other teeth and unlike horns. It would be very painful; think ramming a brick into your front teeth. Not fun. The truth is way cooler. The male narwhal uses its horm like a magnifying glass for sonar. They hone the sound through it, narrowing the feild of vision but increasing detail. Thats great for finding holes in the ice to breathe through.

Have you thought about trying to analyze pokemon's breeding, how the egg grouping system could work in a biological sense? In my mind I thought about several points regarding it. Firstly that since there is as you showed in this video differences between male and female, there has to be sexual reproduction between members of the same species. In what comes to breeding in between species, since the baby results in the same species as the mother, I think that it could be said that either female pokemon reproduce by parthenogenesis but they need the stimulation given by the presence of a male pokemon to start the process, or they are "kleptons", species that can use sperm from other species even if they may not use the genetic material (basically parthenogenesis with extra steps). Some kleptos do use the genetic materiel of closely related species but the resulting offspring is polyploid and technically could be said is not the same species as any of the parents. Just a thought, maybe you could explore it better. I would like to see if it would be possible to "rationalize" what is kind of a dumb system in the game.

It is. This video is clickbait. The real reason the dot is there is because to tell the sex of chicks, you flip them over and squeeze them slightly so you can get a better look at their anus. How could you possibly forget the dimorphism on the freaking mascot!!?? Male Pikachus have their tails end in a point, to resemble a lightning bolt. Female Pikachus' tails have two little bumps at the end of the tail that make it resemble a bolt with a stylized heart at the end.
