Nope we aren't all indebted we live in a County that's constantly Invading other countries for resources. Are we indebted to them for what Are US government has caused in Ukraine? Are we indebted to just these sailors for choosing this line of work for a future career or because it was the only way out of some shit town they live in. Maybe they Chose this option to get a education so suddenly we need to be indebted to them. That's a Asinine statement. Should we be indebted to the U.S government for the games they have been playing with Russia using Ukrainians as cannon fodder? It's this kind of patriotic brainwashing bullshit statement that let's this nonsense around the world Continue for the military industrial complex. And because of us being the world's biggest terrorists the U.S dollar is now going to tank this economy is fucked so who should I be indebted for that? My country can't give me heath care no less during a covid pandemic When they've sold out to the pharmaceutical company so should I still indebt myself to people brainwashed thinking they are saving the country while only helping destroy it for a few people pulling strings and installing puppets in our country and around the world Until the rest of the world is sick of us and then kills the US dollar. yes let me get on my knees and service these amazing sailors.

Sounds stupid to say it ---- because both enemies and tons of wacko Americans think the US has been UNDER funding its military (or that the corrupt guys have siphoned off all the money), despite the US having a $1T a year defense budget (add about 25% to the publicly reported $85B and you're on the mark, in federal spending) ---- but the US Navy is more powerful than all other navies of the world combined. China has "hundreds" of small, coastal and fishing boat like ships; but the high end, ultra sophisticated ships, both surface and under water, that the US Navy has, no other nation has them. I think China has recently tested its first nuclear propulsioned sub; but that means it'd take another 15 to 20 years to get half the fleet the US has and still be 20 years behind in actual experience... due to the much more dangerous environments subs and crew both have to deal with, from literally one minute to the next... because a mistake on a floating ship, even very bad one, allows the possibility of some or all crew to bail out. Under water, one minor fire or explosion could turn deadly within a minute or two, for 100% of the crew... so again it'd take China DECADES to catch up to the US in the fielding of safe, sophisticated nuclear subs. China CAN'T steal that kind of working experience; you simply have to learned it by trial & error, over DECADES of safe operation....

Australia appreciates New Zealand for what it contributes , it all helps . During WW1 NZ sent approximately 100,000 troops to fight in Europe , out of a total population of about 1 million , 10% of the population . Aussies and Kiwis love to compete in sports but the ANZAC spirit will always overcome any concerns between our two nations . I worked in NZ for a year or so , loved it to bits . Do not feel guilty about anything , being a Kiwi is something to be proud of . Cheers form Oz 🙂

The United States is interested in safeguarding the profits of monopoly capital, which carries politicians in Washington around in its pockets like loose change. Imagine the uproar if China or Russia or any other country for that matter said it aimed to exercise military control over land, sea, air, and space to protect its interests and investments. This amazingly has been the stated United States policy since 1997. The United States demands that the world bow down to its leadership. A failure to do so is met with the full force of the international military-industrial complex controlled by the U.S. government. Enforcement has included everything from the funding of opposition forces in sovereign nations, the removal or even assassination of political leaders who refuse to toe the line, economic sanctions, and military intervention.

The USS Mississippi (SSN-782) is a Virginia class, fast attack sub. It has no nuclear tipped weapons on board. At least not what you are thinking of. They carry MK48 torpedos and Tomahawk cruise missiles. This is a smaller boat than the much larger Ohio class, ballistic missile subs. They have 24 launch tubes that carry the Trident II SLBM. Those are what you are thinking of. My son is an officer on a SSBN. His mother asked him where he sleeps on his boat. His response was, "Between #4 and #5..." I had to explain that to her. She was not pleased. GO US NAVY!!!!

Most researchers would say the Russian subs are on par with the United States with slightly less silent or equal sonar signature but superior weaponry on the sub. China is 8-12 years behind in terms of the subs though which is why Russias subs are fearsome. They have been making and engineering subs since the beginning. That's why if we allow china to her closer to the russians then the 8-10 year ahead sub tech we have over china will be brought down to zero or even china slightly ahead should Russia transfer it's highly sensitive and advanced submarine tech to china

Only on paper. Russian subs, like all their ships, spend most of their lives rusting away at their moorings, the boats are not properly maintained and the crews get little training. They're not as bad off as the Russian surface fleet, but that's about like saying something is not quite as toxic as plutonium.

Uhhh…point of order: Diesel subs are not “louder”. They don’t move around underwater on diesel power like a submersible dump truck. They use batteries and only use diesel engines to recharge the batteries when surfaced. In fact, Diesel electric subs are much quieter than nuclear subs. The problem is that they can only stay submerged for a limited time before they must surface to run the diesel engine so they can recharge batteries…becoming detectable and vulnerable while doing so. And because of they require diesel fuel to run those engines to recharge those batteries….they are range limited
