Exactly! I did this same mount years ago for my 212 powered ez-go golf cart. I wanted reverse and it works great. I don’t have an install video but I made a video couple years back removing it to use the 212 on a minibike. That video will show the mount I made very similar to what you did. Thanks for sharing!!

Bout time someone figured out what was the best way to put these things in the right place. I ended up building a completely different mountbfor it alone and buying a longer belt. No other channel has been able to figure out how. And after alot of beer and a few cuss words( or was that vise versa) I threw it together just to get my sons kart out of my garage... I'm not normally a fan of yours but I do give props when someone else has done a excellent job and you have here... as you said you have dome something that the big channels couldn't do which when you started explaining how...I was like see just because they got big they quit caring about the right way of doing things and you still have that drive to do it correctly. You gained my respect here and my subscription. Thank you I'm gonna go beat my head against the wall because I should have seen the same thing you did . Thank you again!

I'm putting mine in a golf cart. I feel it's reasonable to assume I won't be mounting it "properly" lol. It's just not that kind of install, for me. It is a resolution to a problem, due to the EZ-GO having an engine that ran forward and reverse (and thus did neither at peak efficiency...no advance) and no forward or reverse "gearing" at all. That gasping tired engine is being replaced by a key start 212cc, which should be enough for my needs

What about the bearing on the CV mounting plate? is that not necessary to distribute the load??

I understand where you're coming from. But that seems like a huge pain. Forget putting the clutch on it, just weld a sprocket to that shaft and run the torque converter normally. Just run a chain from the torque converter to the welded on sprocket on the gearbox. Boom now you can put that gearbox pretty much anywhere you want. Above the engine, below, 3' away.. doesn't matter.

Thank you so much for this video, I knew usin one of these things didn't have to mean hours and hours of fab work. Personally that bracket is well worth the $59.99 go power sports wants for them to avoid all that fab work. I'm a tight wad but as I get older, i have learned sometimes its best and easiest just to pony up the funds for the ready to go version of whatever it is I'm tinkerin with. Do they make a FNR with a correct 5/8" shaft for the driven? usin a grinder to shave that shaft down looks like a huge PITA and easily fouled up. I want to use one of these FNR units on a old manco 3 wheeler for my wife, that factory setup looks like the ticket.

all the reviews on this forward reverse box are a little harsh ive got one in a golfcart beat the snot out of it daily have no issues with the box but i sure mounted it wrong but it was right for my application ive got an intermediate chain going from a 40 series cvt to the input shaft had to go to a bigger sprocket because two sprockets so small was causing alot of chain skip. but i like the sponsor style you do how do all these other guys promote products they dont use and have never tested vevor ive got alot of crap of theirs reverse box a diesel heater the 40 series and a bunch of 40 series drive belts all work flawlessly but yet the reviews all claim cheap junk doesnt work there was one issue of the cvt plate bending and causing belts to spit out but that was because the 420 swap golfcart engine plate was flexing under torque so buddy who fixed it for me took it off reinforced it and made the back a jack screw and straightened the cvt plate and its flawless needs better brakes but wheres the fun in knowing you're not going to roll out into traffic

so what driven clutch did you use ,the gearbox shaft is not keyed on the threads and a 40 driven clutch will not slde on do to the bore key.

I am starting my KZbin channel as soon as I can get everything together. I know where there is a 1983 Yamaha three wheeler that is in really sad shape. The rear is literally broken off of it but the re is another rear from an atv near it. Do you have any suggestions for titles such as "Rescued from the scrapyard"..blah blah blah. @@johnkoury1116 I find title wise it depends on if it will be a constant theme or a one time thing. I coined Tractor Hunting because I knew over time it would be used as a search term that set me apart. But that also meant at the start it got no main stream love like Junkyard Revival does. Just things to think on.
