We need to talk about the Quinton Byfield goal which is about to take the internet by storm. All that and more on today's NHL hockey video as we look at the Los Angeles Kings vs the Columbus Blue Jackets.

what? ok, sure, lol
@Alex-js5lg7 ай бұрын
@@zillatattoo What do you mean, "what?" Byfield: 1. Steals the puck after Columbus wins the draw in the LA zone to go end-to-end on a 1 v 3. 2. Puts the puck through through a defender's legs to take it to the slot. 3. Has his stick knocked loose and so kicks the puck up ice to himself. 4. Stick lifts one defender (though I think that was a shot attempt) while being tripped by the other (looks like the stick blade contacted Byfield's right skate). 5. *From one knee,* goes forehand -> backhand -> top shelf, leaving the goalie sprawling.

After that January slump the Kings had, goals like this one from Byfield and the one from Clarke against the Bruins have really shown the confidence that the young guys can bring to this team. I'm enjoying every moment of it, and I'm happy QB is a King. Also, yes. Goal of the year no question for me. All the little things that Byfield did in this play was incredible. The control, the stick lift, the kick of the puck ahead to his stick, and then elevating that puck while on one knee. Just pure filth.

The league doesn't even vote for Goal of the Year so I'm not sure what you mean. If you mean by most fans and media thinking Mcdavid had the goal of the year 2 years ago when he went through 4 New York Rangers player before scoring, it was objectively the best goal of that year. Mcdavid hasn't really scored a goal of that caliber this year, and no one is even thinking Mcdavid is in the discussion (except one random commenter haha)

Crazy how with almost any player who enters the league younger than 20 is 9/10 times written off as a bust before that 21-23 age range. The NHL is a men's league, no wonder a kid fresh off his draft is going to "struggle", they've gone from playing against kids to the absolute best men in the world at the sport. However these prospects are typically insanely skilled at the game, it just takes time to adjust their game to the level the NHL and gain some confidence. Good on Byfield for keeping his head up cause the kid has stepped it up tremendously despite the pressure of being a "Bust 2nd overall pick"
