Goan fish curries are many! The Jeer-Meer curry is one of them- the simplest there is! Here, I’ve used Anchovies (silverfish, known as Velli in Konkani) and it goes well for this curry. The fish were fresh and so the curry turned out lip-smacking good :)
I have also demonstrated the scaling, cleaning and rinsing of the fish. It is quite easy to do for beginners too.

Mog Asum ❤️ Let There Be Love
Ingredients:
Silverfish/Anchovies (Velli), washed and cut as shown. Apply Salt and set aside for 15-20 minutes and then rinse.
1 & 1/2 teaspoon Salt for the fish
2- 3 Tablespoons Oil
1 large Onion, finely chopped
2 Garlic cloves, crushed
1 inch piece of Ginger, crushed
1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds, crushed
8 Black Peppercorns, crushed
1 green Chilli (non-spicy variety)
2 green Chillies (spicy variety)
1 medium Tomato, finely chopped
Salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
1 to 1 & 1/2 Cup Water (adjust consistency)
2 or 3 Tablespoons Tamarind juice
Coriander leaves for garnish
