This channel is worth so much more than 2 bucks a month. I can't even get my eyes on information and education like this without paying out the ass on tuning school. I'm a tuning book course cost deep. Don't regret it, it gave me the confidence to know what I was doing wasn't going to hurt my engine. Still peeling through jt. But these videos are absolutely the sequel of that book. It's all that information after your first training wheels tune. I hope he is rewarded enough to keep this channel around for a long time. So valuable.

I fought my car all day long, until I watched this video. Made the recommended corrections in my tune, and the car started right up. Thanks GRG!

Look here Kyle. It must be the Kyleness that we both share, but I cannot believe you posted a video literally THE DAY I'm trying to tune a trick flow cam. Fancy.

i also found with mine gen4 that with a camshaft (or less compression) if u have less advance for cranking it can help, less advance means the piston is further toward TDC and thus more compression has been achieved so it may ignite easier, i was in the 3-5 deg cold at the rpm it cranks over worked well

I'll test it out, I was in that range before and it struggled but the fuel was still a bit too rich

I’ve had some short sighted success with varying the block of idle cells in my VE. Like you said you can get enough flow rate to get consistency. If I have a lean cell on the under idle cell and a rich cell on the over idle cell while the cam oscillates and idle corrects to target rpm the lean rich in the correction area helps it from just loading up under extended idle. New to tuning and tried this the last couple days on my car. Seems to help

Oh man. I am getting excited...can't wait to hear this thing rip. I got my cam and crank bolts on order...hopefully if they get here by the weekend and weather is good I will have my blower cam installed and be ready to tune it. Then I just gotta save for the blower kit and fuel system.

Really woke up the blower, making a lot more power at lower pressure

@@GoatRopeGarage Nice I am trying to save up for a maggy over the lsa...you know for activities. HAHA I would probably have to max out an LSA just to make it to 14psi on these heads. Maggy im looking out is a 2.3l but its like 2x the cost

Yep. I just got my Vette dynoed after a stage 3 cam and 243 heads. Made 408 hp. But rhe tuner said he will charge extra for cild start tuning.

That’s mind blowing. If it doesn’t cold start it’s not tuned. What a dirt bag.

I apreciate all your videos. But that being said, I am very happy to see a new TUNING video! Thats the reason I got hooked on your channel originally. And btw, the truck is SICK!

Maaan im so glad you came out with this video! Just last weekend I just swapped my gen 4 stock 5.3l out for a gen 4 built 6.0l and i have been having no luck with the start up portion of it! But now this is out, I will definitely be starting over with the tune and go from there! One thing I am having trouble with is trans tuning with a higher stall converter 🤔.

Hey boss, I just got my heads/cam gen 5 viper motor back 3 weeks ago. Before the rebuild it had a generic tune which was pretty decent. The motor was rebuilt with the same or "similar" parts but now on the dyno, there's about 50whp missing. Could this be due to it needing a new tune despite the same parts or could the builder be pulling a fast one?

What atout EOIT? If it’s left stock would it dump fuel with the new overlap?

So would the cranking VE primary effect me if I running in the maff or is this strictly SD?? I went ahead and dropped it to 80 as well. Thanks brother can’t wait for some more

SD, there is an airflow cranking correction for when in MAF

Hey Kyle, I’ve been watching your videos for a month or so now and I’ve just got hp tuners last weekend. I’m trying to tune my 2004 Silverado 5.3 that I built the motor in. I’m having issues with the idle when I put it in gear. It will idle fine, then drop to nothing like it’s going to die then pick back up just before it dies. I think it may have something to do with the heads being ported and the cocker arm bolts leaking, but I used sealer on them. Anything I need to look into before I swap heads? I’m installing my aem wide band this weekend maybe that will tell me something
@GoatRopeGarage4 жыл бұрын
Get the wideband in, might be overly rich causing the dip and check your idle setpoint in gear, it's separate, might need to bump it up

I have cam surge can’t figure out how to do timing at calculator specs before I ruin my motor hitting valves worries me please help
@GoatRopeGarage3 жыл бұрын
Try and set a static timing of like 15 degrees in the editor and focus on getting a good airflow dialed in for idle then let the timing do adjustments after
@michaelbaskinmichael98623 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your help Kyle but don’t know where I would set static time or just do a base spark at 15 and how do I tune air from intake not from exhaust to stop bucking and sucking
@brkntires4 жыл бұрын
Can you talk about EOIT for a larger cam. For IV gen. ;)
@intolstuning37354 жыл бұрын
easy way to start on it is under "injection timing" set the normal RPM table to all zeros, set boundary to all 520, then in the normal ECT table the 110 cells lower those by 5 each time until u see your idle trims/WB show richer at engine operating temp, once u change it and it dosnt go richer leave it there on the last change and adjust MAF/VE/VVE to correct, depending on overlap u could be in the 75-100 range ( stay within that range is best and ramp back to the colder values) thats now where u know u are getting most of the fuel in the chamber and burnt, then only use the Boundary for adjustments and keep them smooth between cells on the 2D, leave idle rpm cells as they are and from then on u can increase the number to delay it more as rpm increase (prob wouldnt go further then 580 up top) just see what it likes as its best with a dyno so u can see any gains as u may be able to put more spark timing into it also, or just leave it at the boundary all 520 after adjusting the ECT so idle will be better, boundary - ECT - RPM = EOIT in crank deg
