We need to pray for all mankind to turn to the G-d of Israel. I have and He is still working on me. Please pray for me and my adult children. I grew up believing JC but not turning from sins until I saw evil manifest into the flesh. When I really started looking for true forgiveness and started searching the NT there was no forgiveness and full of contradictions. Someone told me to listen to Rabbi Tovia Singer and Hashem opened my eyes that there is only One true G-d and that no one can die for the sins of another. Deuteronomy 24:16 and that there is only One G-d Isaiah 43:10-11. I got rid of the NT and want to be pleasing to the most high.

This is so On Point! Rabbi Singer's perspective is unbelievable. Not only is he a legitimate Authority on Abrahamic Theology, he's got an incredible grasp on the 'human condition'. I was a Christian once. And it was very much consistent with Rabbi Singer's example. I was in a very bad place. I was suffering immensely with my OCD and also Substance Abuse issues. And 'yes', I do in fact have an immense amount of tattoos. The only thing that separates me from the person in Rabbi Singer's hypothetical example is that I never felt comfortable with Christianity from a doctrinal perspective. 'Why must we be saved from our own G-d'? 'Why would G-d torture people eternally for the most innocuous of reasons'? 'If G-d designed us, then it rationally follows that he also designed the very precise and unique nature of all of our brains. Some people are naturally more 'skeptical' than others. Why he create a person with the Neuro chemical propensity for 'skepticism', and then 'eternally punish' that person for being the 'non believing skeptic' that he was designed to be'? Why did G-d have to stage a disgusting Blood Sacrifice in order to 'forgive' people for 'their Sinful Nature' of which they played no part in manifesting? If G-d is Omnipotent then he doesn't need to ordain a disgusting Pagan Blood Sacrifice to atone for 'Original Sin'? Those are just a few questions that I had that never were or could be reconciled. Many years ago, I was at this 'Christian Retreat' run by two nutcases. I went there under the advisement of my lawyer who's a pretty devout Christian. Anyway, it was there that I experienced The Catalyst that would lead to my 'emancipation' from this Pagan Cult of Human Sacrifice called 'Christianity'. I inadvertently stumbled upon a video on KZbin that said that 'contrary to Christian Theology, The Tanakh says nothing about an eternal realm of torment for the pettiest of transgressions... It says that everyone goes to Sheol'. Obviously that's a 'paraphrase', but it was enough to 'cast doubt' on a 'worldview' that despite my most earnest attempts never felt 'right' to me. So... Ultimately I started studying Jude of Christian Theology, and the 'corrupt nature' of Christianity became more and more blatant. I didn't begin to identify as Jewish until relatively recently. My father is Jewish but he and just about everyone else in the family is 'secular'. So... I ultimately 'found my way'. Praise Ha'Shem! Blessings.

Thank you for sharing your perspective and story. Just one important point that you should be aware of. There is a big, big difference between leaving Christianity on the one hand and becoming Jewish on the other. I can't say precisely the words he would use, but if you were to ask Rabbi Singer privately if you could now identify as a Jew because you've left your Christianity behind and your father is Jewish, he would probably explain to you that there is no such thing as "identifying" as Jewish. One is either born Jewish, which according to Torah law means being born of a Jewish mother, or one can convert to Judaism. There is also the possibility of being a Noachide, which is a non-Jew who believes in the G-d of Israel and keeps the seven Noachide laws (and can get a share of heaven at the end of life without ever converting to Judaism!). So it sounds less like you are Jewish and more like you are on the path to becoming a Noachide. I cannot stress how important this distinction is. Understand that there are other branches that purport to represent Judaism that claim that one can be Jewish through one's father only. These branches of Judaism are still made up by a majority of people who are actually Jewish, but because they don't follow the oral law of the Torah, they are not practicing Judaism in the form that Rabbi Singer ascribes to and which he would (and does) teach is the historically correct form of Judaism because it is the one that most precisely conforms to the teachings in both the Jewish scripture and the oral law, neither of which correctly represent Judaism without the other. On a personal level, I want to acknowledge you for preserving through what must have been tremendously tough times! I'm so glad you are feeling better. 🤗

When it comes to 'Conceptual Abstractions' such as the concept of 'identity', the nature of said abstraction can vary according to the context that it's being used / evaluated in. So... From a purely Denotative Theological perspective what you said is all Undeniably True. When it comes to a 'Societal Perspective' however, things are different. Take Legendary Rock n Roll Artist Lenny Kravitz and his ex-wife Actress Lisa Bonet. Kravitz' Father was Jewish and his Mother was Black. Bonet was the opposite. Bonet's Father was Black and her Mother was Jewish. Theology aside... As far as 'Secular Society' is concerned, both share the same 'Ethnic Background'. They're both 'Blewish' or 'Jewish Black People' in the eyes of society at large. The same goes for me. So, here's the 'Important Question' (As far as I'm concerned). Given the recent upswing in Societal Antisemetism spearheaded by Rapper Turned Neo Nazi Kanye West, AM I willing to 'shoulder the burden, accept consequences and allow my Jewish Heritage to BE KNOWN? Or will I conceal it and tell The Gestapo that I'm just some 'Black Dude' and deny my Heritage? The answer is the former as opposed to the latter, and RIGHT NOW, THAT is the important thing to focus on on my estimation. Quibbling about doctrines that were completely absent from The Jewish Praxis for many, many centuries after its inception must take a 'back seat' as far as I'm concerned.

Christianity actually the followers of Paul. 2000 years ago, the Roman and Greek Empire with its culture and mythological and pagan roots already held the beliefs such as "God coming down in human form". So after witnessing just a single "miracle" from Paul the deceiver they were conforming to their already held beliefs. No wonder when they heard of this guy Jesus with all the stories of his miracles, it was very easy for them to take him as "Son of God" (and this concept later on developed in to taking him as God) as this already went hand in hand with their pagan and mythological belief system. Little wonder that those times and those places and people also had "Triads" and ancient "Trinities" and "God" in threes and stuff. I grew up in that indoctrination, not knowing that my ancestors, from both my parents, because of the Inquisition of Spain. When you're transliterating a word or expression from one language into the alphabet of another language (Hebrew to English, for example), then "close" is "good enough." [There are many ways to spell Channukah, for example!] The usual way it's spelled it baruch or barukh, but as long as your meaning comes across, it will fly.

@@britanikothegreat8513 "Allah" is the word Muslims (usually ONLY Muslims) use as the name for God. Like Christianity, Islam is a false religion. Unlike most other false religions, Christianity and Islam DO have the same god as do the Jews, but Christianity and Islam incorrectly understand Who and What God is and is not. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is indeed a righteous god, but the god of Christianity is not. The god of Islam may be righteous and just (I don't know enough about Islam, as it is inconsequential to my own spiritual growth), but shariah law itself is patently unjust and those who follow shariah are most certainly not likely to be just. They MIGHT, however, be righteous... if they - and we - are lucky.

A person whose merits exceed his unrepented sins in God's calculation is termed "righteous", in the sense of being declared to be on the side of righteousness in God's overall judgment.
