So I am newer to civ 6, and I played Goth Cleo on got lakes just to try it out. It felt so wierd having a 25 pop capitol with 4 districts, including the government plaza, but honestly there was no point in making any districts there. The city was on the coast, had Masaleum, Ekumanimi, and a preserve. The tile yeilds were off the charts.

I feel like Rock bands should scale differently; like take a page from Civ 5's book and make it so that they give more tourism the more great works of music you have? Or base it on some other factor, like they just give a portion of the tourism you already make, or even they give more tourism to civs the fewer of their tourists are visiting you? To clarify that last one, if your tourism is already dominant over a civ, sending a rock band to them isn't going to have much of an effect since they're already buying your blue jeans. But, if you send them to someone your tourism hasn't affected much, you get a bigger boost since it's more novel and exotic to them?

Since they are relatively close together it doesn't really matter too much. "Flight" is the most important technology since it enables all your cultural improvements to provide tourism. If you are close to victory grab this, it might push you over the edge. If not it doesn't matter too much.

@@Stachelbeeerchen Most things don't matter that much, but small decisions add up which is why I'm asking about it. also, I'm not sure your assertion about flight being the most important technology is necessarily correct. I had assumed culture yields from groves provide tourism, but I just loaded up a game, and they don't have any tourists on the tourism lens. I also then added a lumber mill to one, finished a turn, and saw no change in the tourists per turn. This could be wrong, but the tech description says "Tourism to all improvements that provide Culture" and preserve culture is explicitly from unimproved tiles. So is flight really the be-all-end-all in this sort of game? Tourism to sphinxes is good, but it's nothing game breaking. I don't think there were any culture improvement CSes in this game that would change that calculus On the other hand, +2 appeal per tile is 40% more tourism from parks assuming average appeal of 5 per tile (50% if 4 per tile -- likely somewhere in between is the "real" average), not to mention the additional park placements it unlocks (faith permitting). This seems definitely better than Computers when there are many parks, so the question is the: - is it sufficiently better to make up for computers being much closer after flight (assuming you've beelined and skipped a lot of the lower tech tree) - are there games where it is better to beeline Steel rather than Flight for the reasons listed above I don't think this is as trivial of a question as you make it out to be

Clarification: RBs feel bad because of how swingy they are which is partly because of the way the promotions are random. With Censorship as early as it is, it ends up feeling like an "All in" strategy. I would think, that maybe if Hallyu and Censorship swapped places, that would be a start. Then, make the Tourism Roll Ranges smaller, but less of a chance to die, if the swap isn't enough to make them "feel" better
