A phrase I believe can be taken wrong is "let go and let God," because yes, we are supposed to cast our anxieties on Him, but that doesnt mean we dont have to do anything & God is just gonna do all the 'work' for us. Like God has called us to love our neighbors & if I have problems with the people around me, that doesnt mean i just dont love them, I'm not just gonna let go and think God's gonna love my neighbor for me. You still have to put in the work, but God will give you the strength.

"Thus says The Lord: Little flock, how is it you say within yourselves the way of The Lord is not equal? How is it you feel as though upon this servant I have poured a bounty, yet you remain desolate? Beloved ones, by whose power were you called forth into existence? To whose joy were you created? By whose favor were you born into this world by way of water and blood? Therefore, again I say to you, who you choose is everything. For I do not withhold My love, yet on account of your flesh you do always step backward. Consider the woman who touched My robes and was made whole. Tell Me, how is it that she received and you do not? Was she so highly favored, that she should receive and you should not? Beloved, come close and walk beside Me, for you are indeed highly favored! And all who grab hold of Me shall surely share in all that is Mine. Little flock, My ways are equal, yet the ways of My people remain unequal. For I have indeed poured out My life for you, yet each one must decide how deeply they drink. Do you not see? My blessings are equal for all who receive of My blessings, and My grace sufficient for all who trust in Me. Thus among those who come to Me, one is not favored over another, nor is My love bestowed by measure. Rather it is you who receive by measure, resisting on account of all these deceitful weights, trust which remains altogether lacking. Therefore do not confuse My love with the calling I have purposed for another, nor compare the gifts of the Spirit with The Blessing. For those I have called to serve shall indeed be given gifts, each in accordance with their faith and My will. And those who receive the greater gifts shall also bear the greater burden, even in the heat of the Day. Therefore, again I say to you, The Lord’s ways are indeed equal, Yet the ways of men remain unequal... Yet those who grab hold of their First Love With all their heart, with all their mind, With all their strength and with all their soul, Shall never go hungry, nor shall they thirst anymore; Nor shall the heat of the noonday Sun do them any harm... Yea, even all their tears shall be wiped away In the house of The Lord." ~ "Blessed is the man who sincerely repents, And also departs from the ways of his flesh... And happy is the man who loves The Lord With all his heart, with all his soul, With all his mind and with all his strength... For he knows The Kingdom of Heaven already, And shall soon enter in." ~ "Oh My beloved, why do you not love Me? How is it you take no pleasure in My Sabbaths, and turn your face from My Holy Days? Beloved, am I not married unto you? Have I not prepared your way before you, that you may come to Me unhindered? Have I not prepared a place for you, that you may be with Me where I am? Beloved, you are My heart’s desire! Yet when I look upon you I see only lukewarm children, lamps with no oil, flowers of the field quickly fading. Beloved, before you came forth from the womb you were Mine, and in your youth I knew you; even in your early years, you remembered Me and knew My face. Yet now you hide your face from Me; under the darkness of the veil your countenance is concealed. For your heart is far removed, and the Way of The Lord you have forgotten... Beloved, when I look into your eyes, I do not see of Myself, My glory has departed! Oh what sadness, bitter grief, the beautiful ones have all gone away, darkness covers the face of the earth! How long shall My people treat Me as one who is made to stand afar off, as one who must wait in an outer room? How then shall the dull of hearing hear My voice and the weak clasp the hem of My robe? Beloved, you have lost your grasp, yet are unaware! Your feet have become entangled amongst briers and thorns, yet you have made no effort to loose them!" ~ "Very narrow is the way, Yet look how easily A little child passes through. Men and women of this world, you stand too tall, your girth is too wide. Lose this height therefore and bow down, for you are puffed up; as fatted cattle you have become meet for the slaughter. Therefore, refuse all this rotten food fed to the masses, and eat no more from the filthy plates served in the churches of men. Rather partake of the food I give you, and be satisfied. For I tell you the truth... Until you decrease in the world’s eyes, And are humbled in your own, You shall by no means pass through... For the first harvest shall be lowly, Of the lowly... Says The Lord." trumpetcallofgod.com

I would say "God won't give you more than you can handle", because honestly, everyone goes through things that they themselves cannot handle. It's God that does the handling; not us. If we never went through anything that we couldn't handle, it would be nigh impossible to realize that we need Him.

I totally agreed with what you said but some people may not realize that you were only refering to happiness in the context of sin. Yea some people use that statement to justify their sin which is wrong. But lets not forget that God does want us to be happy but only if we follow his plan and purpose for our lives and not use happiness as an excuse to justify our sin. Again God does want happiness for us only if we live our lives according to his purpose.

Adding to the convo, I found a beautiful lyric from the song The Well by Casting Crowns. It says: “I have what you need, but you keep on searching; I’ve done all the work, but you keep on working; When your running on empty, and you can’t find the remedy, just come, come to the well.” You know we can chase endlessly in our lives to find what is missing, but we cannot find fulfillment in the world or in our sin. Death is going to win in our lives if we are not being sanctified (being set apart; free from sin) in Christ. Are you willing to pay the cost? It will cost you everything if you aren’t sanctified with him, but he is able to do immeasurably more than we can ever ask or imagine. We have to come to a place where we allow God to take over our lives and be in obedience to what he is telling us especially obeying his Word. We will not die to sin with Jesus, we will have in him.

Dang Becca you are on fire in this video!! God bless you, and your hair looks great. After this video I feel a bit convicted. After becoming a Christian, it was hard for me to listen to my friends talk about the sin in their life and say anything. It's still hard. Good conversations have been had about sin and how it is wrong and continuing to separate them from the Lord.. but the next is back to them talking about their sin which they sit in comfortably all over again. It is hard finding the right time, and maybe it's my personality being too passive, but it can just be so difficult really having anything to say when people talk about their walk with the world. It just can be difficult, *sigh*.

The medical analogy is so relevant, I used to cut and while it would fix the problem in the moment and make me feel good in the moment, all it ever do was make the real problem worse. I know it’s an extreme example, but if a friend was doing that you wouldn’t say “well it makes you feel better now so you just keep doing that” when it’s obvious what they’re doing is damaging

Prosperity gospel is always preached by preachers who use moralism instead of Christ centered messages Moralistic preaching is preaching that does not focus on the cross of Christ. For example, we do not try and be good because being good is nice. We try and be good because Jesus saved us from our sins and doing what is right glorifies Him. Preaching that is not focused on the cross is not preaching. It is a waste of time. Often you can detect moralistic preaching by asking if the exact same sermon could be preached in a Mormon or Jehovah's Witness setting. If so, then something is probably wrong.

Here is would be an interesting phrase to discuss - “God is fighting for me/ God is on my side.” I have never know what’s to do with this phrase. I mean, dont we choose to follow God/be on His side? Does He look upon us and say “oh I choose to fight for her/him” or do we look upon Him and say “I want to be on His side?”
@molotovmafia24065 жыл бұрын
Both I think... God is waiting for us to come and be on his side. He has chosen each one of us for some purpose. I Imagine that we are His soldiers who fight for the Light💗. My favourite quote is Ephesians 6:13-18 about the armour of God. Btw that's just my opinion! I don't know it at 100%. Also, what do y'all think your purpose is?

Hey Becca!!! Going a long with this video I don't know if you have done a video on this, but I know I hear a lot of Christians talk about how "God will never give us more than what we can handle" I think that would be a good phrase to do a video on because I had a pastor talk a little bit about it once, about the falseness of the statement. This was something I had used often and I have come to find it isn't really truthful. God gives us more than what we can handle because we need to rely on God's help, right. If we could handle everything on our own we wouldn't need him at all, but we do need him everyday though. I think many of us are confused and miss guided with I Corinthians 10:13, which says, "No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." God never says he won't give us more than what we can handle on our own, because we handle it with him on our side. Temptation is something that happens to every person no matter who you are. The difference is how you deal with the temptation. It's okay to be tempted because Jesus himself was tempted by the devil and every time He was tempted He fought the devil with the word of God. The devil is real and is not afraid of any of us, but he is fearful of the name Jesus Christ.

I think God does want us to be happy, but He is the only one who knows how to make us happy. We think we will be happy by having premarital sex, but you are right it will destroy us. One thing i don't like that some people say (specifically people who say they believe in god then go and do the most sinful things) is that they are religious. & of course though im not perfect and i cant bash anybody for acting a certain way, but i always try to help them for instance ; bringing up religion when i seem them or talk to them : (just so they can have the memo). Yikes that was a long rant with little meaning behind it.

I love the song by United Pursuit that says: I was made by you, I was made for you, I am unfulfilled without full communion. I feel like it beautifully describes what you were saying here. I've been wondering about this saying: I won't give you more than you can take, I might let you bend but I wont let you break. I've come to realize that sometimes God does let heavy things enter our lives, things that are too heavy to carry on our own so we can turn to Him and be restored and find the rest only He gives. What do you think about it? I would love to know, thank you soo much for your videos!!!

I literally look forward to your outros after each video. Always finding new amazing worship songs! thanks to you! Also amazing word :) but do you think God doesn’t care about our happiness at all?

Aww that makes me so happy!! And God rejoices when we rejoice...mourns with us when we mourn. So it's not bad or evil to be happy...God is happy with us. :) It's bad to live your life chasing it and trying to "get" happy. That's not God's main goal for us, in fact, He has goals for us that are SO much better than that!!!
