My apartment building has a super high ceiling above the front doorway, and a pholcidae spider made a web way up at the top. Somehow, all the residents (4 apartments) collectively decided, without speaking to each other, that she lived there and no one bothered her for almost 2 years. @@Jacqueline_Thijsenyeah I'm in ontario, and there aren't really any venomous spiders here either. Any spider you see in your house is always a safe one. There are black widows in some areas, but they are secretive and easily spooked, so you generally only see them outside in very rural areas with little human activity, and they really aren't dangerous. Black widows rarely bite, they prefer to run or hide when threatened, and when they do bite, it's rarely fatal. Although it makes you feel pretty awful so it's still good to avoid it.

@@suchnothing @suchnothing I caught one and kept it in a terrarium for a while. It eventually passed, but I loved seeing it every day. It ate really well, up until the end, so I think it was happy having a safe place with abundant food to live out its days

I live in a converted bus on a friends bush block in Tassie (it's basically a really cosy RV that doesn't move by it's own power anymore, has all the "mod cons") Due to me liking to keep the door and vents open all the time if possible (except the middle of winter) I get lots of "Visitors". From huge huntsman (very docile, even friendly, their size is what makes you jump) through to black house spiders, occasional white tail, but no redbacks seen yet. I think the Huntsmen and black house spiders keep them under control, them and the large number of skinks that come in for a snack. The only visitor I don't let in is the Tiger snake... They're OK OUTSIDE, too old now to avoid a strike in close quarters. No need to kill any of them, except possibly the white tail, but a good shake down of clothes before you put them on, and bed linen before you get into bed will get rid of any hanging around. Lived here over a decade with all my "friends", never bitten.. startled yes... bitten no.

Living in an old house, you get used to spiders, especially in Autumn when they come in to avoid the cold. Thankfully, even the biggest are nowhere near tarantula size. I generally leave them alone so they can find a hiding place to stay until the Spring. Some of the large ones are quite cute.

Last night I had a spider crawling around my bathroom floor, sometimes they get in the shower. I will move a spider outdoors so my dog won't go for them and I appreciate the insect control. The jumping spiders people keep are so cute! 😊

Spiders and sharks: Scary enough when you can see them; even scarier whan they disappear from view. Thanks, God. 😬😵💫

"Camel spiders" aren't even actually spiders (order Araneae). They're solifuges (order Solifugae) -- completely nonvenomous. There's a lot of silly myths about them, which doesn't help make anyone's anything-phobia better.

Nope, I don't do well with the small ones in my house. 😵💫

Rule one: donot tell anyone you are afraid of spiders. They will find any excuse to literally throw one on you!😵💫😵💫😵💫

Interestingly, the camel spider is not actually a spider (solifugae) and is non-venomous. However, it has large pincher fangs that can be wounding.

As much We all love his reactions to new dog breeds, Its wonderful to see god respond to other creatures. I still want to see him respond to some cat breeds... the sphinx, devon rex and savanah come to mind. But for freak outs.... platypus and octopus is sure to have "did Satan have part in these since they are not in my image!" type of response

Spiders are 8 fuzzy legs filled with fun. I am still afraid of touching one, but I like to admire them either way. For pets, I keep cute snakes! I love how derpy they can be. All three of mine turned out to be introverts just like me. I'm currently trying to make a snakeproof activity tent that doesn't get cold. I need hamster tunnel pieces.

Technically, the goliath bird eating spider is the size of a large puppy, so maybe you coyld get one on a leash.
@samfish25508 ай бұрын
.... have you seen a bern pup, they are the size of a medium casserole, the very implication there is terrifying.
@therediodeerman58118 ай бұрын
@samfish2550 jk, they're not that big. The average is the size of a dinner plate, but they're still pretty fast though.

Luckily, for all parties involved, the more venomous an animal is the less likely it will attack. Generally if an animal instantly ops for attack as its first response it’s because it doesn’t have any other defensive strategy and is hoping to scare you off. It’s why wolf spiders are so aggressive. They’re completely harmless but account for quite a few spider bites because of their aggression

As a proud owner of 9 tarantulas ranging from the world's largest tarantula (still a sling, so it's fairly small considering how large it'll get) to 2 of the most venomous tarantulas.... I love this video!! Bonus points for the poisonous/venomous bit.
