I don't think kratos will die. Remember this game is a game without camera cuts and the side quests will continue after the main story is finished so you'll still need kratos to finish the side quests. I think kratos might die in a cutscene in the next game when Atreus is a grown adult and is playable.

The old man at the door early in the trailer and the voice lines about if kratos was ever worshiped, the blood on kratos and atreus hands and that he is a monster that kills without cause is Odin himself. I think the secret atreus is keeping is his conversation and maybe pact he forms with Odin

"It must be Zeus bruv" It's not, it's Odin, but that aside, this trailer is unreal! You're absolutely right. GOWR doesn't need another trailer. I'm expecting one more, but I'm going to hard mode skip it. I don't want to see another second. The marketing for GOWR has been sparse and I'm grateful for that. It started with a tease of the logo. Then we got some gameplay (more GOW, not complaining). Then we got the release date trailer, not much new. One final gameplay release which was honest and fair. Now this machine of a trailer drops and it has ruined my fragile little mind. This is how marketing should be. Elden Ring bosses are quaking in their boots right now.

I just hope Atreus unlocks an ability that he inherits from his god half. All the abilities we've seen so far from him are abilities of the giants like the language variety and immense intelligence he has is from his giant half and this game is hinting at him getting prophetic visions as well which is also a giants ability. We saw a glimpse of spartan rage from Atreus but I hope we get more god abilities from him. So far, all we've seen are abilities he inherited from his mom. When gods die, the worldly aspect they have control over starts going rampant like Poseidon dying created floods that covered all of Greece, hades dying released the souls within him etc. When Atreus was about to die in the last game a storm started to form and sky turned red. I'm guessing Atreus god abilities might be somehow related to the sky. He mightve inherited Zeus abilities and title which is "god of the sky". For those wondering, Zeus is the god of the sky, not god of lightning that alot of people call zeus in modern media depiction. In actual myth he was the god of the sky, Poseidon was the god of the earth no just the sea, and hades was god of the underworld.

I don't think skies turning red when Atreus almost died means that his abilities are tied to the sky, because in the Norse mythology, when Loki "died" it was said that the skies turned red and the nature "felt" it. I think Atreus abilities are language and nature, but maybe he'll be able to have "Spartan rage" without getting sick now that he knows his heritage.

The Skoll and Hati scene with the slow and epic GOW theme gives me so many goosebumps all the time. I have two theories for this game: 1-Kratos will develop an inferiority complex against Atrues because of how strong he's getting, he will get intimidated because Atreus doesn't need him by his side protecting him anymore and actually he's the one protecting Kratos most of the time instead of the other way around. It will not be the typical worry from a parent like "He doesn't need me to protect him anymore" it will be more like "I'm getting left behind" type mentality almost like a rivalry even. 2-We know how the writers love to twist and play with the original mythology and we know that Atreus is Loki the guy who starts Ragnarok so i think that it will be dope that instead of calling Atreus the god of mischief instead they name him the god of chaos or the god of destruction, it will be dope because his father is the god of war you know what i mean and knowing what Atreus does that name will still be accurate.

Based on the last game, it'd be crazy if Freya put a spell or something on Atreus and you have no choice but to fight him/kill him. Kratos as a father let's say couldn't bare killing another child of his so he sacrifices himself in order to break that spell. Speaking on what Joe and Sam was saying, then right there you play as Atreus and that's who you use to kill Freya.

What if I told you that wasn't Kratos dying on the mural??? I get this feeling that was Odin being held by Loki. I mean... he was bald which Odin is in the trailer. Also, look at his kilt. Its red and green. If you look at Kratos on the mural his kilt is all red.🤔I think Atreus will betray us (that rhymes) and align with the Aesir. This is how Atreus will become Loki the trickster. That's why he sent Baldur to get either the ashes or Atreus in the beginning of the last game. Just a thought.
