Prediction: Based off of the fact that this DLC is going to be about Kratos going on a journey of discovery and self reflection in order to be a better god and the inclusion of a remix of the OG theme, I’m guessing the final boss will be a younger version of Kratos. Also hopefully an old weapon will be brought back (I’m hoping the Hades Claws) Edit after DLC released: Young Kratos is in it and the Blade if Olympus is back. Ehhh I’ll take it as a semi right prediction

The final boss might be a younger Kratos or maybe even Athena herself. We still need a conclusion on that little plot detail. Especially if this is about Kratos fully confronting on moving on from his past.

I wonder if Sony possibly payed the developers to make it, for good PS5 press or something. There has been a lot of bad ps5 press recently but I guess that’s too recent to be a factor. I am mostly confused about it being entirely free and curious who funded its development just for it to not make any money. Actually that could be a good way to boost game sales people mostly only think about releasing DLC to make money off the DLC itself. But releasing totally free DLC at the right time would convince some amount of people to pick up the game who hadn’t before and whole games retail for way more than DLC. If someone could work that out it’d be so win win, everyone gets it free and devs still generate money from DLC. Sorry bit of a tangent, don’t think that’s the case with this DLC though since it came out so late

Even though this may not be 100% lore accurate to mythology, in the Magnus Chase series all people who die in battle, no matter what morals or side you were on in a war for example, you would get into Valhalla if you did a brave death while fighting of you had a weapon and died holding it, so we could see Zeus or something

I don’t think we would get to see Zeus as though yes his primary weapon is the master bolt, it seems when Zeus was beaten to death by the triangle, he didn’t have anything on hand. On the top of my head…I couldn’t think of anyone. Though there could be an argument that magic is a weapon entirely on its pwn

Magnus Chase isn't very myth accurate. It's actually my least favorite of the Riordin books. Most of them are well-researched and has even has info that even people that are well-versed in Greeek/Roman, and Egyptian mythology didn't know. The Norse one, is not that. I don't know why but it wasn't very well-researched and I was so disappointed.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla also has a rogue-lite free dlc called Forgotten Saga with you as Odin working your way across different realms until you reach Niflheim.

Well during the Battle in Asgard while Odin's war machines were destroying the realm tower gates to cut off allied reinforcements, Freya and the Shield Maidens(former Valkyries) also made an effort to cut off Valhalla from Asgard to stop the Einherjar from coming back again and again. I'm guessing it worked but Valhalla was still heavily affected by Asgard's destruction and the Shield Maidens might still be too busy with the aftermath of Ragnarok to do much about it. That and with Odin dead the "Worthy Souls" need a new purpose so maybe that's one of the reasons Kratos is there, figuring out just what to do with the place now that Ragnarok is over.

I hope in this DLC we encounter Vidarr, the norse god of vengeance. He is a very popular requested god people have been wanting to appear and fight kratos. And I think in actual mythology he did survive ragnarok, and killed fenrir on top of that.

Only one I see them adding in is Forsetti. Also they took a lot of liberties with the mythology given that Ragnarok in the actual myth is the end of the Norse world

Kratos wasn’t always alone he got demos back in ghost of sparta and got some soldiers fighting with him in chains of olympus and in god of war 3 there was Athena helping him and Hephasteus crafting his weapons and also the Titans helping Kratos against Olympus. But the true help in ghost of sparta came from demos.

This DLC seems like a Roguelike for long fans of the series. It contains references from older games and the music played during Kratos fighting is similar to GOW3 ost. They probably plan to add older boss fights and give us some more lore on how Kratos made it to Midgardr.

At th beginning th developers of th new gow considered egyptian mythology, but since that era valued civilization it would have deviated frm th theme of th stranger in a strange land. Btw, kratos has actually alrdy been to egypt in gow: fallen god, a 4-issue dark horse comic miniseries, in which he meets th egyptian god thot n fights against 2 demons in th form of a crocodile n a hippo

That's because GOW 2018 was way better than Ragnarok, Ragnarok had too many plot holes, the pacing was all over the place, final battle was a huge letdown, not enough gods or killing of gods, Kratos became 1 note, all of the hype and questions from 2018 didn't get used for Ragnarok, still don't know who blew the horn, Atreus being Loki amounted to nothing, Ragnarok just kinda sucks, Odin didn't even live up to the hype from 2018, he's supposed to be this all powerful intelligent god and he's given over a thousand years to prepare for Ragnarok and a blacksmith who didn't even know of his own death was able to figure him out, on top of that Garm being able to cut rifts between dimensions didn't get used as a way or travel to Asgard, and then of course why would Odin send Heimdall with the 1 other item needed to start Ragnarok... Game made no sense at all.

God Of War upsets me. They literally use Norse Myth in the most disrespectful way possivle; Baldur is (sort of) the Norse Jesus, and you literally have to snap his neck. Will the next GOW be about killing the Biblical Prophets with Jesus as the final boss? That's the level of "deconstruction" we're talking about, here.
