My theory (which has absolutely no basis) is that in an ancient time, gods, dragons, and demons were sort of like the top of the food chain, ruling the world with humans below them. Humans eventually taught themselves magic, and specialized it into slaying the other races, with them eventually winning a war that either killed or sealed the races, with dragons either turning sides or the humans just having some good ones be left to wander. The remaining dragons would reproduce, resulting in the storyline. Zeref then learned in ancient books of how powerful demons could be, and modeled his after them.

i have a theory about why god slayer magic is black and it is similar to what was brought up in the video, in that the reason god slayer magic is black is because that is what happens when a mortal interacts with divine magic, it blackens. This would account for the fact that all the god slayers are not in danger of becoming gods, their elements are still blackened by their mortality. This would also explain why Zeref's curse is black whenever it activates it is divine magic acting through a mortal vessel, cause for all that Zeref was immortal it was only so because of a divine curse. Not out of divine power. The reason I think the magic is, so far only learned through books though is because god slayer magic was created by mortals trying to figure out how to use divine power and getting what they got instead but because it was still good against gods and it was similar enough to the other slayer magics that that is why it got titled god slayer magic.

My theory would be that Hiro probably going to save introducing the Gods (beside Ankhselam) for another arc that could be set far into the future. This latest arc the 100 year quest arc kind of foreshadow the facts that the main character might have a family in the future, from Levy pregnant with Gajeel baby, Gray finally opening up to Juvia, Erza and Jellal finally have a moment together, it's blatanly obvious when the MC team are transported into Edolas where they find their counterparts there already starting a family together. And given that if Cheria wanted to relearn the God Slayer Magic would take a long time, my guess would be that she would be an adult by the time she relearn the God Slaying Magic.

My headcanon theory for the existence of God Slayer Magic is actually very similar to this. Specifically, Zeref wanted to slay the goddess of life and death that cursed him to immortality, Anhkseram, so he created God Slayer magic by observing other gods.

Devil slayer magic has a different color to it. Devil slayer magic is a pinkish red rather than the normal element. When Gray uses ice devil slayer magic his ice is more pink then his normal aqua colored ice. The closest we get to an ice being that color is ultears ice make which was way more purple

To think someone already had the same idea about the origins of God Slayer Magic as I was re-watching Fairy Tail ... Personally, I just thought that it would be a nice storyline and very "Fairy Tail" in itself. After all, Zeref may have been known as "evil" but he essentially shaped the world we anime-fans enjoy with all our hearts. One more accomplishment of Zeref the scolar: Creating God Slayer Magic to kill Ankhseram. But I do wonder if Zeref wields Fire God Slayer Magic or some other type I haven't thought of yet...

I say dragon slayer magic way better than god slayer magic. While god slayer can eat dragon slayer elements, they can still be hurt by it since their magic doesn’t transform the body like dragon slayers do. They don’t get the extra benefits of enhanced senses, and dragonified magic resistant organs.

My personal theory is that god slayer magic does have a downside but its harder to notice than the others. The theory is that your body slowly gets taken over by the very god your meant to slay. Each god slayer we've had always atleast to me had this weird air about them and their persobality/actions. When we first met Sherria I felt there was something weird about her during her fight with wendy, she was treating it like it was just some fun game and yes its just a competiton and they are both kids but wendy definitely wasnt having as much fun as her besides the fact she was struggling against sherria. Maybe the beguinning signs start off with your personality or mental state slowly shifting towards the god becoming less and less human. Mr lightning god slayer (i forgor his name ngl) was super serious a lot of the time always seeking a challenge but he was also just a guy messing around and being goofy other times showing a stark contrast of personalities within the same person. Fire god slayer guy its hard to say if he was just crazy but he obviously had something wrong with him mentally besides the fact that he was a villian/antagonist. The other grimoir heart members still had some sort of humanity in their behavior and actions but he felt different from them even compared to hades. He was most likely the farthest along in the shifting into a god compared to sherria and lighting god guy with sherria being in the earliest considering she learned it relatively recently in her life given that shes so young compared to the other two.

Perhaps it could also explain why they dont have a dragon force equivalent power up or atleast dont have any distinguishable features for it.

My theory is that in the past a group of people werent happy that humans were learning Dragon Slayer magic so they decided to create their own type of magic and dub it "God Slayer" Magic to seem like theirs is more powerful. they also purposely made it so Dragon Slayers couldnt eat it so they can feel superior. Obviously i have no proof... but i like to think it was made cause people got mad and pissy that other people got cool Dragon Slayer magic.

I would think that God Slayer magic was the First Slayer Magic… Possibly during an Era of Gods. Demon Slayer Magic being created through a demonic resurgence since Gods have possibly weakened during a war. Demon Slayer Magic might be acquired through Magical Mastery & Demonic Essence. It’s what I’m assuming because Gray’s Demonically Resurrected Father was able to pass that magic to him. If that’s true though, its more of a curse than Magic. And Dragon Slayer Magic used to fight against the Dragons in the War. Invented by Erza’s Mother. But my only question is, are they Complete God Slayers. Dragon Slayers have Dragon Force… but they are also part Dragon because of the Magic’s Nature. Could God Slayers have an equivalent? If I had to take a guess, they needed years of practice to master it, but wouldn’t be a true God Slayer until they bathed in the Blood of the Divine… it makes since to me.
